Requirements of the Project Your Chosen Group (3-4) will need to

supply answers to the questions on the next slide. You will need to be thorough in your report by exploring all the details of the given topic. It is expected that you write out paragraph answers whenever possible. Some research may be difficult given the amount of information compiled on any given tribe. Please give sub-headings to your report per question asked.

Please include a “Works Cited” page as well.

Questions to be Covered in your Report What is the translation or meaning of the

name? Where did they historically live? Where are

they located today? Reservation name? What is their population numbers?

History/Current Who were their Native allies and enemies? What were their shelters made of? What were their food sources? Describe any other cultural items? (Language,

Government, Dance) Explain three important dates in their history. Provide details to three interesting facts that

your group found out about them.

Part II of the Project In addition to the paper report, groups

will present their findings by presenting to the class. You will go over the answers to the questions in a 7-10 minute timed session.

Each group will need to produce either a poster board or diorama that is visually interesting and appealing. It will need to be high quality and practical which means colored and large enough to be seen by persons in the back of the class. Include major items to be focused on while your group is covering the facts.

Feedback This assignment will be due Tuesday, February

19th, 2013. You will be allowed to use the iPads the rest of the week for research, feel free to get books from our library as well.

Class-time will be limited to this week. Do Not use Wikipedia except to get you pointed

in the right direction. Only one group per class may work on a specific

tribe. Please keep track of names of people responsible for each portion of the project.

Report = 45 points; Poster/Diorama = 35 points; Presentation = 20 points for a grand total of 100 points.
