It is the year of the pig! For many people around the world they may already be setting goals or thinking about making progress in their lives. However, they may sometimes feel demotivated, don’t know what to do next and fall of track. This sheet will not only help you stay on track but will also help you achieve your goals much faster.

Using the following 8-step process worksheet you will have a great target setting process so that you can start to achieve everything you want this year.

CREATE

the TargetDecide on 3 targets that you want to achieve by the end of this year.

Don’t put things in negative don’t say because i don’t want to look fat … don’t focus on what you don’t want. Focus on what you do want, otherwise you will create the yoyo effect of moving away from what you don’t want and then back towards it.

SET A POWER year targetNow that we know the top 3 targets you want to achieve this year, I now want you to now think about the following:

Well this is actually the most important part of the process. Many people set 1-year goals but because a year is such a long time we often forget about the targets we set. We procrastinate and feel we have enough time until its too late. Then we have to start the goal setting process all over again after wasting 12 months! However once you set 3-month targets, you can see periodically in the year how you are doing. Plus you can change your strategy each time so that you can more efficiently achieve what you want!

WHAT COULD BE A SMALLER 3 MONTH TARGET YOU COULD SET THAT WOULD BE A GREAT STEP TOWARDS YOUR LARGER TARGET?

Write down all the reasons on the worksheet. These are the emotional resources you need to follow through. Many people set targets but forget the real reasons why they want it so become demotivated as a result. Make sure you pick reasons that make you feel that you MUST follow through.

CAPTURE

your ideasYou need to write down everything that you could do to make this happen. Brainstorm all these ideas, actions and activities on a separate piece of paper, as we still need to prioritise the order of your tasks.

Well it will start to give you a much better understanding of all the things that you could possibly do to make it happen. I’d like you to specifically focus on a few core routines and habits that if you adopted would help you move towards that target in a consistent manner.

PrioritiseNext I want you to think what are the most important things for me to do first? Pick the top 5 items you need to do and fill them in on the sheet.

It wouldn’t make sense to start improving your relationship if you don’t have one yet! Nor would it make sense to go shopping before you made a shopping list! As simple as it seems, you would be very surprised by how many people miss this step and often waste a lot of time catching up on things that they should have done previously.

TAKE

ActionIts important after setting these targets that we take the take action immediately!

If you are going to start a diet for example, one action could be to throw out all the chocolate that you have in the drawer by your bedside table! Ultimately this is where we start to create momentum to more you towards what you want in your life. Don’t read on until you have taken one action step no matter how small towards your targets!

MEASURE

progress weekly Next we need to measure your progress. Fill in up to 3 things you can measure on the worksheet.

Measuring wise we can measure time, body weight, your emotions, your positive interactions with your partner, your passive income … the list is endless! There are many ways to measure so make sure to find the right ones for you. This is of fundamental importance so you know if you are on track to achieving your targets.

Another way to measure is through quality questions to make sure that you are on track and to keep yourself accountable. Fill in some quality questions on the worksheet.

A good question for a diet for example would be how have I been great at dieting this week? Here we are focusing on everything you did right in the diet!

Successful people aren’t the people that don’t fall off track, because we all do, but they are the people that get back on track the fastest. No matter how this power year has gone for you so far, remember we are all human! No one is perfect so let’s get back on track to making even more progress starting today!

Remember:

Re-evaluateAfter 3 months is completed. You will then have to re-evaluate your targets and move through these steps again. Here are 3 powerful questions to ask yourself in 3 months time:

DID I ACHIEVE MY TARGETS? WHY/WHY NOT?

WHAT MUST I DO DIFFERENT THIS POWER YEAR TO MAKE EVEN MORE PROGRESS?
