Clarence Jazz Festival Scholars Clarence Jazz Festival is dedicated to developing the next generation of young Tasmanian players. As part of its commitment it invites three young artists to participate in a scholarship program which provides six months of private lessons with top tutors. They perform on the Boardwalk on Friday, 23 February.

George will be guesting with bands throughout the program, MCing the concerts and working with our Jazz Scholars. George’s All Stars will perform the festival grand finale on the Boardwalk.
Farewell Randal Muir Randal Muir’s dedication, brilliance and nurturing of talent for the music community in Tasmania has been incredibly important over the last 25 years. As he moves to northern pastures, this is an opportunity for his regular playing mates and audiences to celebrate his contribution (and encourage him to come back often).

Artist in Residence Through its Cultural Arts Program, Clarence Council commissions artists to create works that complement the Jazz Festival. This year’s Artist in Residence is Sally Glover whose passion lies in the visual creative realm. She has created paintings that will be on display during the festival and have been recreated as wine labels for our festival vintage range.
