Welcome to Denver!
Sincerely,
Earl GarberNACD Past President &2017 Annual Meeting Chair
Welcome to Colorado and the 71st Annual Meeting of the National Association of Conservation Districts!
We’re so glad you could join us in Denver, The Mile High City – where 300 days of sunshine, a thriving cultural scene, and natural beauty combine for the world’s most spectacu-lar playground – for what is sure to be an exceptional time of learning and networking with conservation leaders from across the nation.
NACD would like to give a special thanks to the state of Col-orado for serving as our hosts this year. Together, we have put a lot of time and planning into this event, and we are confident that you will be pleased with the results. Our program this week will focus on the theme “Conserva-tion: Our Water, Our Land, and Our People,” highlighting the efforts of our conservation districts and partners dealing with growing and shifting natural resource demands.
While in Denver, you have the tremendous opportunity to be surrounded by America’s leading conservation professionals and experts. We hope you’ll take full advantage of this time to network, learn, and ask questions so when you return home, you’ll be equipped with the ideas, information, and tools you need to best support your local district’s and com-munity’s conservation goals.
Thank you for your continued leadership, engagement, and dedication to voluntary, locally-led conservation. If I, or any of the other NACD officers or staff, can be of assistance to you this week, please don’t hesitate to ask.
Enjoy the meeting!

NACD’s continued work to promote locally-led, voluntary conservation at the national level would not be possible without the generous support of our member districts and state associations. We are proud to be your national representative and this country’s voice of conservation.
NACD wishes to express our appreciation for the support of past donors’ contributions including: the original NACD Building Fund and 509 Capi-tol Court campaign; the Endowment Fund Cen-tury Club; Presidents Club; and Life Membership contributors.
NACD also received substantial support for its work in 2016 through the Agriculture Depart-ment’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and Forest Service; the Interior Depart-ment’s Bureau of Land Management (BLM); the Walton Family Foundation, The Scotts Mira-cle-Gro Company, and The Albert I Pierce Foun-dation. NACD would like to extend a big thank you to these organizations, as well as the members of the National Conservation Planning Partner-ship (NCPP): The National Association of State Conservation Agencies (NASCA), USDA NRCS, the National Conservation District Employees Association (NCDEA), and the National Associ-ation of Resource Conservation & Development Councils (NARC&DC). The past year’s conserva-tion successes would not have been possible with-out our NCPP partners.
