In 1 Kings 18:36-38, the prophet Elijah prays and fire from heaven falls. The people make a decision on the spot that the God of Israel is God and Baal is not,

and the prophets of Baal are wiped out. Now, you say, “Wonderful! I remember the account, but what about me? I’ve been praying for my family, my church and Canada, and I see little or no change.” That’s the good news; similar to Elijah of old, I hear the Spirit of God saying as he did in 1 Kings 18:43, “Go again,” and believe God for the results.

It took seven times of Elijah’s servant going and looking until he came back with a weather report seeing a cloud, as small as a man’s hand (v. 44). Elijah didn’t send that servant to look again to see if another cloud had come up, or even if the cloud had gotten bigger; by faith Elijah knew it was “go time.” Scripture says that the Spirit of the Lord came upon Elijah and he outran the horses and chariots of Ahab back to Jezreel (1 Kings 18:46).

Wow! I for one am ready for the rain. I hear the sound of abundance of rain. When the rain falls and the Spirit of the Lord has full control there is no telling what could happen. Remember, it’s “not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts” (Zechariah 4:6). Exercise your faith, get your second wind, and “go again.” God will send the rain!

SafeHope Home is an organization dedicated to free victims of sex trafficking and break the cycle of exploitation by providing a way out for young women and youth. Human trafficking in the sex trade in Canada refers to the coercion of others for material gain. Young women are forced into the sex trade against their will. They are manipulated based on false relationships, money, drugs, physical abuse, or any combination of these. What awaits them is a life of despair, violence, fear and degradation. Incidents of human trafficking of this form have been increasing across Canada.

Safe housing is provided to women exiting sexual exploitation or trafficking.

in salvation?

In the Bible, the Apostle Paul said in Philippians 2:12-13, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God that worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure” (kjv). He is urging us to build on our salvation by not yielding to our sinful desires. But we depend on Him. That’s His will and that pleases Him.

There’s a partnership between God and us and it’s mentioned in the Bible.

Acts 15:28 says, It seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things (kjv). We’re working together with the Holy Spirt to draw closer to God and not just remaining stagnant in our salvation. That salvation was bought by Jesus when He died for our sins. It was His gift to us.

What do we do with that gift? As we live with Him over time, we’re working with the Holy Spirit, being made in the image of Christ. And then, we become more and more like Him. We’re participating, developing from one degree of glory unto the other.

SafeHope Home provides a unique and comprehensive long-term recovery program of three to seven years. Blessings on the Heels of Obedience

When He gives us His leading, we know the way to go.

It’s interesting that a section of Deuteronomy is called eikev in Hebrew, which can be translated “a consequence,” “because,” or “on the heels of.” Certain things happen

when we walk in accordance with God’s commands. Deuteronomy 7:12-13 says, “Because you listen to these

rules and keep and do them, the Lord your God will keep with you the covenant and the steadfast love that he swore to your fathers. He will love you, bless you, and multiply you.”

When we listen to His Word and keep His rules, God will keep His covenant with us. We don’t see the blessings ahead; we’re not walking by sight. We take a step in obedience, and on our heels come these blessings from behind, overtaking us.

It’s also important to recall the miracles. Deuteronomy 7:18-19 says: “Remember what the Lord your God did … the signs, the wonders.”

When CBN began, God told my father to take the airwaves back from the prince of the power of the air. Every broadcast day in the 1960s was a miracle. It was a miracle we paid salaries and utilities. It was a miracle we could buy a transmitter. We would pray in every camera and staff member. We would pray earnestly on our knees for a studio light bulb, because we couldn’t shoot the show without it.

Everything was done by faith; nothing was done the way the world said to do it. We never had enough money, people or expertise. We were like little children, humbly saying, “Daddy, lead us.” Deuteronomy 8:3 says, “He humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna … that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.”

Have you ever thought, “I could do a lot more if I only had the money?” Rethink that. We can do a lot more if we have the Word of the Lord. His way is perfect, and when He gives us His leading, we know the way to go.

Here’s the requirement: “To fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments and statutes of the Lord, which I am commanding you today for your good” (Deuteronomy 10:12-13).

This is a repeating theme throughout Deuteronomy. As we fear, follow, love and serve Him, His blessing will come on our heels. God bless you.
