These classes will prepare you for PAP and AP classes in high school. AP classes can earn you college credit while you are in high school.
PAP Math 7O Requires
excellent study skills
O You will automatically be registered for PAP Math 7 if you are currently successful in PAP Math 6.
If you have not had PAP Math 6,
testing is required to prove you
have mastery of 7th grade math
before you can take PAP Math 7,
because it teaches 8th grade math.
You must score an 80 or better on the test.
Test will be given in May and July.
Registration is required.

Athletics

O Required to play football if in class in August
O Basketball tryouts are in November
O Track, Cross Country and Soccer can be participated in while in PE class

AthleticsO A coach’s
signature is required to sign up for athletics.
O A sports physical is required before school starts.
Athletics is for the serious athlete. It
is like a PAP-PE class.
There is a lot of running.
Don’t sign up if you don’t like to
exercise!
PE Options
Tennis External PEO Try outs required- you
must know how to play tennis and keep score
O Must be at Hebron for practice at 7:30 am
O Bus gives you ride back to KMS at 9:00 am
O Application requiredO $150/year fee O Must have at least 15
hours/week of special training to leave early
O Minimum 5 hours week to earn PE credit

O Listed on the green course request sheet.
O You must choose 5 and number them 1-5 with 1 being your first choice.

Fine Arts
O EVERYONE is required to take at least 1 Fine Art class in Middle School.
O If you didn’t have band, choir, orchestra, art or theater in 6th grade, choose one for 7th grade!
Fine Arts: MusicO Band- Honors, Wind Ensemble,
Symphonic O Jazz Band – this class will be in addition
to a band courseO Choir – Tenor/Bass (boys) choir, Girls
Choir 7 O Orchestra- Chamber, Philharmonic and
IntermediateAll music courses require auditions for the
upper level groups.
Fine ArtsO Theater 1- Beginning / Intermediate level theater
classO Advanced Theater – Application and audition with
Mr. Luce required
O Art 1- beginning drawing, painting, and sculptureO Art 2 – an advanced art class for people who had
6th grade Art. ***O Art Appreciation/Graphic Art- A combination of art
history and creating art on computers.

Outdoor Education
O Students learn life skills in the great outdoors. These include nature recognition, hunting, fishing, hiking, archery and cooking.
O Students participate in archery competitions.
O You may only take this course once in MS.
Media ProductionO Yearbook-
students will design layouts, write captions, edit and publish the school yearbook.

O Video Tech – students learn video editing techniques and participate in special video projects for KMS.

Technology EducationO Robotics - basics
of robotics is covered as well as the science behind them.
1 semester class
O Gaming –introduces students to basic computer game creating and to careers within the industry.

Technology EducationO Designing and
Building Model Bridges, Cars and Rockets- exploration of engineering fields. The majority of the year will be covering this topic.
O Forensics: CSI and You- exploration of science and technology involved in forensics and law enforcement.
Human ServicesFood and
Nutrition Clothing & Textiles
O Study of the nature of food, food processing, and nutrition. You get to cook!
O 1 semester class
O Study of fashion, textiles, and apparel industries, including garment design. You get to sew!

Circle of Friends
O Establishes friendships between students with disabilities and their non-disabled peers.
O Application is located outside the door of Room 1701.

2. Talk with your parents about your choices
3. Discuss your study habits and motivation for PAP classes with your parents
