Material (21” necklace) in the supplied kit

Pre-tied 7 strands 36” long S-Lon tex135/0.4mm and 1pc 28”-2mm core cord. 2. 12 pc 4mm Japanese seed beads 3. 12 pc 4mm silver daisy beads and 15pc silver leave beads 4. 12 pc 5x16 dagger beads, 5. 12pc top hole freshwater pearls 6. 12pc 4mm crystal bicone. 7. 12pc 6mm or 8mm crystal roundel 8. 12pc long magatama 9. 10pc silver leaves, 11pc set of shell pearl 10. 620pc 8/0 Japanese seed beads (15.5 gram) 11. 1 set of end-cap clasp (inside diameter of end-cap is 4mm) 12. A paper template

Round foam disk, big-eye needle, beading mat, scissor and glue needed, but not included.

Set up

1. Cut the paper template; glue it on the back of disk.

Or use your own 7strand template.

2. Place the cord knot at the center of the disk like the picture: Insert 7pc S-Lon

cords into #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #7 slots, leave #8 slot empty.

Bead & Cord layout (Note: The Beads for the 2nd section (focal section) have been packed properly, do not

mess them up).

Use big eye needle to string beads except cord #4 and #5.

For cord #4, string daggers with just cord;

For cord #5, use Elmer’s glue or other glue to stiff cords ends, cut the ends at 45 degree

to sharpen the tip, and then string pearls.

Braid (braid around core: The Core cord always staying at the center during

braiding. see Fig 1.)

Start to braid: move #1 cord to #8 slots, turn disk clockwise to #2, move #2 cord to #1

slot, move #3 to #2, move #4 to #3, move #5 to #4…Keep the same direction and same

movement on and on. The cord movements for this braid follow the number, and the

cord you are moving always goes into the empty slot.

1. Start Braid just cords for exactly 7 movements. If you braid every cord correctly in

this round, the cord with bicone beads at the focal section should be located at

slot #8. You should double check it.

2. Braid the first section beads: Continue braiding starting from slot #8, the cord

with the bicone beads at the focal section.

3. Braid the focal section beads: Continue braiding starting the cord with bicone

beads at the focal section.

4. And then continue braiding the third section till the last bead and working in this

manner 14 movement just cords.

Note: Make sure that each bead stays under the first cord crossed. Braiding at

one bead per cord movement till the last bead

If you follow every step exactly, you will get the focal section aligned on a straight line

beautifully.

Finishing:

Lift two opposite cords, make a square knot at the center, drop little Elmer’s glue to the knot, Then lift the rest of cords, hold all 7 cords together to make an overhand knot at the end of point of braids (see picture above), drop little Elmer’s glue to the knot. Trim excess cords and leave about ¼” from the overhand knot, drop little Superglue Gel into the end-cap and insert the one end of the braids into it, and repeat this step for the other end. Use the chain nose pliers to hold the knot (the knot at the start or the knot at the end) , push and twist it into the end-cap.
