Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

We are just a little over a month away from the celebration of our annual Attitude of Gratitude Dinner Dance. The date is November 10th. Our Mass will begin at

4:00 p.m. and then our celebration continues at the Mayfield Banquet Hall. The tickets are $55.00 per person. This includes food, drinks and dancing. Tickets will

be sold in the back of church or you can purchase them at the Parish Office.

This year, we will not be honoring specific persons or parish organizations. The Parish Council decided we should not single out any person or parish groups.

The thinking is that we as a faith community are all called to “SHARE CHRIST’S LIGHT”.

The Attitude of Gratitude Celebration should be a moment for all of us to come together and celebrate our parish’s mission which is:

WE SHARE CHRIST’S LIGHT AND OUR FAITH IS DEEPENED AS WE CELEBRATE THE DIVERSITY OF OUR PARISH.

Our Eucharistic Celebration and Dinner Dance are designed to provide us with another opportunity to live out our parish mission.

I am hoping that you can be part of this celebration!

Humanity has an intimate relationship with God from the very beginning, for we were created in God’s image. Not only that, we have an intimate relationship with each other, for the partner of the first human was created out of the first. These are the lessons that this creation myth tries to impart. We are madein the image of God and created to be in relationship with each other. “It is not good for the man to be alone” any more than it was good for God to be alone (Genesis 2:18). Though God’s Son had not yet come into our world and God’s Spirit had not yet come down upon us, God has always been in this Trinitarian relationship. The flow of love from one person to another is a necessary constituent of

conscious life from the start.

Oficina Parroquial.

fe, estamos llamados a "COMPARTIR LA LUZ DE CRISTO".

aby przyjmować większe dobro i przekazywać Twoje dary przyszłym pokoleniom.

Trwajmy w świętym gronieNajświętszej Maryi Dziewicy, apostołów i wszystkich świętych.

Niech ich przykład i obecnośćnatchną nas cierpliwą ufnością

w działanie Twojej łaski.

Prosimy o to Ciebie, który żyjesz i królujeszz Ojcem w jedności Ducha Świętego, jeden Bóg

przez wszystkie wieki wieków. Amen.

Od proboszcza biurka Drodzy Bracia i Siostry w Chrystusie,

Jesteśmy nieco ponad miesiąc od świętowania naszego rocznego tańca towarzyskiego Attitude of Gratitude. Datą jest 10 listopada. Nasza Msza rozpocznie się o 16.00. a następnie nasze świętowanie trwa w sali bankietowej Mayfield. Bilety

są 55,00 dolarów za osobę. Obejmuje to jedzenie, napoje i taniec.

2017 - October Count in ParishesREPORT OF SATURDAY-SUNDAY MASS ATTENDANCE FOR

OCTOBER 2017 ARCHDIOCESE OF CHICAGO

OTHER CATHOLIC INSTITUTIONS

47 non-parish institutions hold mass for ~ 13,000 persons. Many of the non-parish Catholic institutions in the Archdiocese, such as

hospitals and religious communities, schedule regular weekend masses for staff and the special public they serve. Since

the October count project began in 1986, several hundred have been contacted. By 1990 it was found that just over one third have

regularly scheduled weekend services. Each year some new institutions are added to the list and some that no longer have services are asked if they have started again. For the October 2017 count 80 institutions were asked to participate if regularly

scheduled services were held.

From the 80, 47 or 59% participated in the 2017 count. The participating institutions report an average weekend

attendance for October 2017 of 12,775 persons. There were 37 institutions that participated in both October 2016 and 2017. For

October 2016 these 37 reported an average attendance of 12,220 persons. For October 2017 they report an attendance of 11,409, a decrease of 6.6%. For those reporting in both years, 18 report

increases in attendance while 17 report decreases in the count for 2017, two remained the same. Estimated attendance for

institutions not participating suggests that around 1,660 persons were in attendance at these sites. Hence it is accurate to say that

around 13,880 persons attended masses in non-parish/mission settings in the Archdiocese of Chicago during the average

weekend of October 2017.

Question of the Week???In what ways are relationships in my life similar to the love of God for humanity? Do some relationships fail to mirror that love God

has for us? Can I look at others in my life as God does?

Readings for the Week St. Vincent de Paul Once again, we’re running low on one of the favorites in our food pantry, Canned Fruit. During the colder months, when fresh fruit is not always available, these canned fruits make for great after

school snacks and for healthy after dinner desserts. So, during the month of October, we are asking for your help with donations of

the following food items.

National Rosary Rally Coming to America

October 7, 2018

Last October, in Poland more than a million Catholics gathered along the borders of their nation praying to Our Lady for their country. Later Ireland, Britain and Australia prayed for their Nations.

Now, WE, in the U.S., are asking for help for the soul of our nation which is wracked by moral decay and spiritual decline.

On the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary which is October 7, Catholics in the U.S. will gather along the coasts, in Washington D.C., at State Capitols, at Churches and in individual homes to beg Our Lady of the Rosary to turn the tide of what is going on in our nation (millions of unborn babies slaughtered, drug use, countless children growing up in broken homes, sexual abuse,

etc.). The question of HOW can this turn around happen? Our Lady has given us the answer at Fatima and La Salette, France, at Quito, Ecuador and Akita, Japan. PRAY THE ROSARY!!!

We have heard this solution throughout history, but the real question is “WHAT ARE YOU DOING?”

Well, one thing YOU CAN DO is join the St. Turibius Parish Family on October 7, 2018 at 3PM

(the Hour of Mercy), in church, to pray for OUR NATION to combat the evil in today’s society.

Please mark your calendar, invite your family and neighbors to “PRAY THE ROSARY!!”

We Are One Family, Encircled by God’s Love!

Saint Turibius Parish

Parish Mission Statement

We Believe that God is Love, and when we live in love we live in God and God lives in

us! Therefore we, the Parish Family of Saint Turibius, dedicate ourselves to living out

Christ’s Great Commandment: we will love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind, and with all our strength, and we will show our love for God

by the way we love and care for one another. To this end, we will respond to our baptismal

call, strengthened by the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and empowered by

the Holy Spirit. As a Family of Faith that has an Attitude of Gratitude for the gifts God has given to us, we will share our time, our talent

and our treasure with each other. We welcome into our parish family all people, because we

believe that together we are the Body of Christ and together we can bring the love, peace,

forgiveness, healing, and joy of Christ into our community in ways we never could have if we were to remain apart. May all who meet us, who worship with us, who work and play with

us, know we are Christians by our love!
