7 easy steps to prevent acne during the summer
TRANSCRIPT
The temperatures are rising. The sun is
blazing. There is nothing quite like being
outside in the summertime.
When everyone is stripping down to their
bathing suits, revealing more skin, you might
have some acne you want to take care of.
On the next few pages we’ll reveal the
easiest ways to stay acne-free during the
summer months.
Sunscreen
There is no doubt about it - you need to
wear sunscreen.
Not only does sunscreen protect your
skin from sun damage, which can lead
to older looking skin, but it also helps
your skin not dry out.
The sun drains your skin of moisture,
which signals to your body to start
producing excess oil.( check out our
sister brand RejuveMD’s Anti-Aging
Tinted Sunscreen!)
The sunscreen you choose can actually clog your
pores and cause acne – so you need to get the
right stuff.
Choose the RIGHT Sunscreen
Aim for products that are SPF 15
or higher, have broad-spectrum
protection (blocking both UVA and
UVB rays), and make sure that
they are oil-free and non-
comedogenic.
Skip the Bath, Shower Instead
After a long day of physical
activities your muscles might
crave a long bath, but oil and dead
skin cells will be sitting in the
water with you.
Showering off will wash away all
that grime.
If you must take a bath, first
exfoliate in the shower, and then
soak in the tub – do not add soaps
and bubble baths since these can
cause skin reactions.
ExfoliateIf you don’t already exfoliate, you should
definitely start, especially in the summer
months.
Dead skin cells pile up. Excess oil can lead
to clogged pores. Acne will rear its ugly
head.
Gently scrub your face and body to wash
away all that nasty build up.
Oil Control
In hot weather, your oil
glands can jump into hyper-
drive!
To battle this excess oil, use
a toner.
Toner shrinks the size of
your pores, can eliminate
redness and skin sensitivity.
Don’t Wash Too Much
Should you wash your face?
Yes. But don’t go cleaning-
crazy.
You can definitely over-wash,
which can dry out your skin
and signal to your body to
start releasing more oil.
Skin experts recommend
washing your face no more
than twice a day.
What’s happening inside your body is just
as important.
Drink plenty of water through out the day,
eat a balanced diet with fruits and
vegetables – these simple changes to your
diet can help your body flush out toxins.
Also, your body can produce acne when
responding to stress, so don’t get to worked
up – remember it’s the summertime, the
time you get to relax and enjoy the weather.

Clearogen is the breakthrough
acne treatment that doesn’t just
focus on the surface of the skin,
it goes deeper to balance the
production of DHT. Acne is
caused by an excess amount of
oil and DHT, which is a
byproduct of testosterone that
occurs in both men and women,
and it signals to your body to
release excess oil. This three-
step treatment addresses all the
different causes.
