7 Books That Have Shaped My Business and

Life

I've always viewed books as a portal into the world, giving you access to new perspectives, ideas and knowledge.

These have been especially helpful in my journey to find freedom with food and overcome over a decade of disordered eating. When I was ready to finally change my habits in the last 2 years of that decade, these were the ones that gave me the awareness and confidence to get things handled.

Psychiatrist Viktor Frankl's memoir hasriveted generations of readers with itsdescriptions of life in Nazi death campsand its lessons for spiritual survival.

Between 1942 and 1945 Frankl laboredin four different camps, includingAuschwitz, while his parents, brother, and pregnant wife perished.

Based on his own experience and theexperiences of others he treated laterin his practice, Frankl argues that wecannot avoid suffering but we canchoose how to cope with it, findmeaning in it, and move forward withrenewed purpose.

Frankl's theory-known as logotherapy, from the Greek word logos("meaning")-holds that our primarydrive in life is not pleasure, as Freudmaintained, but the discovery andpursuit of what we personally findmeaningful.
