Aligarh is going to organize a on on the eve of World

Health Day.

The theme of our 2017 World Health Day campaign is Depression which is also the theme of conference. Depression affects people of all ages, from all walks of life, in all countries. It causes mental anguish and impacts on people's ability to carry out even the simplest day to day tasks, with sometimes devastating consequences for relationships with family and friends and the ability to earn a living. At worst, depression can lead to suicide, now the second leading cause of death among 15-29-year olds. Common mental disorders are increasing worldwide. Between 1990 and 2013, the number of people suffering from depression and/or anxiety increased by nearly 50%. Close to 10% of the world's population is affected by one or both of these conditions. In humanitarian emergencies and ongoing conflict, as many as 1 in 5 people are affected by depression and anxiety. Depression increases the risk of other non-communicable diseases, such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease and vice-versa. Depression in women following childbirth can affect the development of new-borns.The objective of the Conference is to provide a Platform to the researchers of the field to prevent Depression and its consequences. To increase the awareness and knowledge of the seriousness of depression, its risk factors and to learn about the effective strategies for preventing complications associated with it. The conference is purposefully planned to accommodate a relatively precise group of participants, encouraging individual attention to each attendee by the super specialty experts. The conference aims at welcoming all the researchers, faculties, medical practitioners and industry professionals in the field of traditional medicine.

The Department of Tahaffuzi wa Samaji Tib (PSM) being the part of Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College, Faculty of Unani Medicine, AMU is imparting health education at the Under graduate and Post graduate levels. From the day of its inception i.e. 1997 the department, has gained reputation for its excellence in teaching & training process, with emphasis on self-learning, coupled with discipline. The department also provides training to the PG Scholars & Interns in relation to the routine immunization, field survey, data collection and statistical analysis. The department is working in collaboration with District Health Administration to boost public and community health. The department of Tahaffuzi wa Samaji Tib devotedly participating in the Pulse Polio campaigns, Leprosy Eradication Campaigns, Hepatitis B Immunization Programmes and several other community health related programmes at local and district levels through seminars, workshops, symposia and health days celebrations.

The abstract should be in English / Urdu, not more than 300 words in IMRAD format and is to be typed in MS word, Times New Roman / Inpage (Urdu) Font 12 with space 1.5 and send through email as an attachment to: Submitted abstracts should have not been presented before. Registration for the conference is mandatory for scientific paper and poster presentation. The size of the poster should be 3ft (width) x 4ft (height); the word should be clear and readable at a distance of 2m. Information about Acceptance of abstract will be sent through email.
