6th Sunday in Ordinary Time February 11, 2018
Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church As a parish of the Catholic Diocese of Charleston, Our Lady of Grace seeks to know and share God’s Word, live as a community of Christian disciples, devoutly celebrate the Holy Mass and other sacraments, provide a prayerful environment for all people, and serve the poor and those in need in Christ’s Name. In this way of life, Our Lady of Grace Parish looks to Mary of Nazareth as its model and patron.

6th Sunday in Ordinary Time- February 11, 2018
From Father KirbyHappy Sunday, Team Grace!
This weekend, we continue our journey with the Lord Jesus. In our Gospel reading today, we see him heal a leper who had the courage and humility to approach him. In our own lives, do we approach the Lord for our own healing and restoration?
Some things happening around the parish:
I’d like to formally welcome Deacon Bob “Doc” Donofrio. The deacon is originally from Pittsburgh, PA. He’s a retired medical doctor, who comes to us from Jesus Our Risen Savior Parish in Spartanburg. He and his wife have relocated to our area so that they can be closer to family. We joyfully welcome him to Team Grace and look forward to seeing him involved in the many areas of our community! Welcome, Deacon!
This weekend, Deacon Doc is away on retreat. He will be using this time to rest, pray for our community, and return even more rejuvenated. Please remember him in your prayers.
Some of you may recall that last year we had a young adult as a Pastoral Intern in the parish. With this position in mind, our parish has engaged Belmont Abbey College and have arranged for a theology student to intern in the parish every semester. And so, this semester we welcome Maggie DiLeo as our Pastoral Intern. Maggie will be assisting with our Wednesday faith formation program and our Sunday evening youth ministry. Welcome, Maggie!
Eileen Cahill has served as the secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council (and on the previous Mission Council) for the past six years. She recently asked to rotate off the council. And so, Eileen will continue as our Director of Liturgical Planning, but has concluded her service on the Parish Pastoral Council. Thank you, Eileen, for your dedication and service!
I’ve asked Barbara Ternovan, a retired businesswoman and former member of the previous Mission Council, to serve on the Parish Pastoral Council. Barbara has accepted and I look forward to having her insight and expertise on the council. Thank you, Barbara!
Thank you to everyone who came for the Blessing of Throats on the feast of Saint Blaise. You’ll see a picture of the blessing on the front page of the bulletin. Also, we continue to support several sports teams here in Lancaster County. You’ll see a picture of one of our teams also on the front page of our bulletin.
More updates next week. Let us pray for one another!
In Christ,Father J. Kirby

As Christian spouses, we are aided on our journey to virtue by God’s grace. At baptism, we receive the gifts of Faith,
