Internal Hello

Welcome to Tallinn, our last meNet meeting

Clarification who is here and who is missing:

This time again the AEC is with us personally: Ester at the meNet meeting, Martin Prchal at

the EAS-Conference. Brigitte Lion is absent due to illness. Greetings from Paul and Günther.

Introduction of the Timetable

This meeting has three main issues:

1. Celebration of our achievements, a lot of products etc. (this is the last meeting and

the first one we will not be in a terrible hurrying workload and a good deal of pressure)

2. Meeting friends and colleagues that one wants to talk about future cooperation and

networking, to share expertise and experience on music education

3. Closing of some of the Network’s aims, small clarification of last things. – As with

regard to the workplan and the timeline we are really very good in time!

Remarks to the content of our meeting:

You can see in the timetable that there are a lot of free spaces for your own individual

plannings in order to meet friends in meNet, to plan future activities, like publishing together

or plan on future projects, meet etc…., e.g. Monday afternoon, Tuesday evening is free,

Tuesday afternoon partly, all the lunches and dinners that have a lot more space than at other

meetings. You can make appointments with partners if you want and relax between the

sessions or use the time for preparations for EAS-Conference.

As you can see we will have three mornings where we will mostly meet as the plenary, some

group meetings lie in the mornings of Tuesday and Wednesday. And we have the afternoons

for informal talks and sightseeing.

“Effects and reactions on meNet in the Countries” – National presentations

In the Hague at the last meeting we have been starting with our Year 3, the year of

dissemination. Even if there will be some more dissemination activities until the project’s end,

there has been a lot going on, ME, MTT, LO had in their workplan “Contacts to Policy

makers in their countries.

Prepare yourself in the National Teams (some of you alone: AV for NL, KD for GR, JRo for

ES, EK for EE, HM for BE) to tell the others about the most impressing (positive but also

other) reactions and effects on meNet dissemination activities that you can make out in your

countries and institutions.

- Using of products

- Main interests

- Answers you got

- ideas from “critical friends”

- who was interested

- what did you find helpful when disseminating, tipps the colleagues for further

dissemination activities.

Please prepare between 3-5 cards that you will be pinning on during your presentation on

a map at your country

Mark the country abbreviation on each card.

Time for presenting: about 8-12 minutes in 2 languages

Cards can be in one language

Evaluating my personal/professional learning: How the meNet project contributed to it Impulses for the Tandem Talks Think of situations, that occupied you for a longer period, that provoked certain inner motions or caused your reflection. Often it is mostly those situations that are provoking learning and developing that are connected with emotions like being worried, anxious or angry – at the certain moment we do not have an idea how to handle it. We have to find a solution and to go through it especially when being responsible (being chair, being responsible for a product or presentation…) How we can recognise that we learned something:

• we handle a situation in a different way than before (a person who trends to work

too much delegates work, a person who is shy takes over more responsibility, …)

• we have a changed view/ perspective (one understands cultural or institutional

differences in a clearer way, …)

• we have improved an ability (like speaking a foreign language more fluently, being

more eloquent in public presentations, …)

Please think of one or two of these situations, talk about them with your partner and analyse

the learning within.

analysiere deinen Lerngewinn.

9.00 – 10.00

Steering Committee Meeting (MG) + parallel ME-Group working on the Conclusions (EL, RJ)

Steering Committee (led by Marina Gall, Chair of Steering Committee)

present: MG, IMa, FN, BS, AV

Minutes of Steering Committee Meeting 30

th June 2009 Tallinn

1 Finances

IMa explained the budget figures. Partners will be asked to complete their final time sheets

shortly, after decisions have been made about working hours (after Tallinn). All partners will

receive what they expect, some will received more. There will be varied approaches to the

time sheets. IMa will stress the need for early details of Tallinn costs from partners so that

she is clear of how much is left in the budget.

2 EAS to support the continuation of meNet work. The EAS has already discussed the

importance of ensuring that work begun by meNet will be continued after the end of the

project. Partners to be informed later in the week.

3 Monitoring

It as agreed that we have now moved into a phase not of monitoring but of ‘final collection’

since we have fulfilled our planned outcomes. SC members will make a check with each

group on Wednesday at 9am when groups get together to work. The only main issue is for

AV. Have the ME group completed the conclusion and have they produced, or are they on

the way to producing a publication. Those to be placed on the DVD (to be decided) must be

ready by 1st September, those to be included in the final report must be ready by 30

th

November and others can be added after this date. SC members should inform IMa what will

be ready

We are not yet clear about the requirements for the Conference Booklet ie what date is this

required and what exactly is meant by a publication?

All publications must be checked. MG and SH will check all in EN; MG suggested a team

who might check DE (IMa, FN, AV, Johannes and Christine; the latter 2 are to be asked).

4 Evaluations

The final evaluation is about to be sent out from IMa.

There will also be a special questionnaire for the SC around 3rd

September. A response is

required by 12th

September. The evaluator’s report will be checked by the SC. This will be

sent to MG who will pass it to the SC who will send thoughts back via MG and not straight to

the evaluators.
