6th Grade Pre-AP Reading Project This assignment is for all incoming 6th grade students entering Pre-AP Reading class at Brabham or Lucas Middle School in August. This assignment will be due on September 9, 2016. Students should read the book over the summer, as well as begin working on the assignment. Although teachers can answer questions once school begins, there will not be any significant class time for completion of this project. Students should use their imagination and work on the project independently over the summer. Book Title: Wonder by R.J. Palacio August (Auggie) Pullman was born with a facial deformity that prevented him from going to a mainstream school—until now. He's about to enter fifth grade at Beecher Prep, and if you've ever been the new kid, then you know how hard that can be. The thing is - Auggie's just an ordinary kid, with an extraordinary face. But can he convince his new classmates that he's just like them, despite appearances?

Fakebook Student Instructions

Complete the fakebook page on a character of your choice from the book, Wonder. You must draw pictures of characters where it asks you for pictures and “pics.” You must fill in as much information as you know is true for the main character. Likewise, you must fill in as much information as you know is true for the other characters that you

mention. At your teacher’s discretion, you may use your imagination to make-up some information; however,

make sure that your made-up information is believable. Keep it appropriate if you want credit. You will be graded on believability of information, creativity, and work effort.
