WEEKEND WRAP-UP FOLDERS

Every Friday, unless told otherwise, folders will go home.

Grades & Missing Work will be available on-line through the ESPRI account. Notations in Espri will indicate whether or not homework & class work assignments can be made up for some credit.

Folders will not require a signature; however, PACK Planners will need to be signed weekly.

Missing work will be accepted and GFA (Grade First Aid) will be permitted on some of the work. I will post these assignments on my website for six-week periods.

Tests falling below a 70% may be corrected, and the two scores will be averaged together.

Parent signatures will be required before I regrade anything.

Studying for tests, preparing for lecture, &

written assignments are types of homework30 minutes per night per subject (LA, Social

Studies, Math, Science) This varies depending on

the student.Teacher Web will post homework on a daily

Unfinished class work will need to be completed for homework. These

assignments will be posted on Teacher Web.

Tests dates will be posted on TeacherWeb.

Information giving specific requirements will be sent home several weeks before the

due date.

A 10% deduction will be given for each day the assignment is late.

It will be the student’s responsibility to check with the teacher to see what work is due.

Due dates will be determined on an individual basis.

Generally, one day is given to complete work for each day absent.

Tests make-ups will be arranged by the teacher.

Personally Achieving Character & Knowledge: This period offers differentiated instruction to various levels of academic performance.

Students are placed in homogenous groups based on CST and Benchmark tests.

Language Arts & Math P.A.C.K. classes occur Monday –Thursday.

Math & Language Arts (each 2 days a week)

Teachers will periodically evaluate student’s P.A.C.K. placement.

6th Grade Electives

6 week courses: Art, Dance, Cooking, Sewing, Keyboarding, Careers, Engineering, Agriculture, Spanish

Coyote Academy (regular ed students)

One trimester is given to get on track.

An elective for academic support/ organization based on

teacher referral.

Learning Lab & Reading Lab (students with I.E.P.’s)

Band is a year long commitment.

A district grading program is used and assignments are entered by categories.

An accumulation of points and percentages calculate the overall grade.

NOSome work is merely done for practice and a

check off system is used.If an assignment is graded you will either see

a percentage score or a star.A star is used to indicate full credit on work

that is checked off.

3 Trimesters (12 week sessions each)

Progress Reports go home every 6 weeks.

The first Trimester report card will be handed out during parent conferences. All others will be mailed home.

Receiving N’s & U’s can result in students not participating in school events & loss of academic rewards.

AERIES & ESPRIAeries software – generates grades & reportsParents should create a new, specific

password for privacy.Students create a password enabling them to

view grades only.Missing Assignment (MI) – possibly could be

a no name paper or absent assignment. Yes or No after entries- yes indicates entry is

calculated in the overall grade percentage.Absent (AB)- work turned in within a day or

two does not result in reduction of grade.

COMMON CONCERNS All items forgotten at home- drop off in office and students will be sent

up just prior to lunch to pick it up.

How much do I monitor my child? “Regularly”

Cell phones, computer, TV, socializing- moderation

Studying?- establish routine schedule & frequently help your child by quizzing him or her

Tutoring?- video tutorials (Holt) Math- I will set up some time after school on a regular basis to help those in need.
