Otolaryngologist/Head andNeck Surgeons practice both the medical and surgical aspects of our specialty.Advances can come rapidly from different areas. Most educational coursesfocus on a particular part of the specialty, such as sinus surgery, otology, orfacial plastic surgery. Otolaryngologist/Head andNeck Surgeons practice both the medical and surgical aspects of our specialty.Advances can come rapidly from different areas. Most educational coursesfocus on particular part of the specialty, such as sinus surgery, otology, or facialplastic surgery. Therefore, there is a strong need for a comprehensive updatecourse in the New York City area. This course will allow the participants toreceive a cogent but comprehensive update and review on all aspects of thespecialty, at a single course. Similar courses are held in other parts of thecountry, and are highly-rated and well-attended. This course is designed forpracticing otolaryngologists and residents in training nationally.

It is intended that this Columbia University CME activity will lead toimproved patient care. At the conclusion of this activity, participants shouldbe able to:

Understand the treatment options for head and neck tumorsUnderstand the diagnosis and treatment of voice disordersUnderstand the evaluation and treatment of ear related disorders Understand the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of general otolaryngic problemsUnderstand diagnostic and treatment options for nasal and sinus disordersUnderstand new treatment options for facial plastic surgery Understand new options for the treatment of pediatric otolaryngic disordersUnderstand new innovations in skull base surgery.

Program Description & ObjectivesThis is our 6th Annual Update in Otolaryngology course; the host departmenthas rotated between Columbia and Weill Cornell and all Updates have beenaffiliated with New York Presbyterian Hospital.
