Business Retention & Expansion Program (BR&E)

• Must be able to provide narration of local economy before we can affect it

• Aids in business attraction

• Local cheerleaders

• Business visits and questionnaires used to:

• Open direct lines of communication

• Identify local needs and concerns

• Identify products & services that could be produced locally

• Provide assistance with expansion efforts

• Applied for and awarded $9,750 grant (1 of 18 awarded)

• Utility extension feasibility

and preliminary engineering

design for 146-acre site

• U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) Public Works Grant

• CSP Expansion required increased electrical capacity

• New $3.8 million electrical substation

• Authored grant & additional required reports

• Coordinated needed documentation between Village of Carey & CSP

• After 8 months of follow-up items; Village was awarded $1.5M grant

U.S. Commerce Department Invests $1.5 Million to

Support Manufacturing in Northwest Ohio
