6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? When I started this coursework I was unfamiliar with all of the technologies we would be using such as Photoshop, InDesign, blogger etc. Therefore throughout constructing this product I learned a lot. I was not aware of blogger but I found it easy to understand. I set up an account and learned how to post on my blog using a title and attaching the post to a label so it can be easily identified. This is how I organised my coursework on my blog. When posting on blogger I also learned how to use slide share, issuu and scribd. I posted through these websites in order to make my work more presentable. I learned that you need to post your work on to these websites then find the embed code from the post. This embed code would allow you to post your work on blogger with magazine like features such as a page flipping or as a slide show. This allowed me to present my work more professionally on my blog. I also was unfamiliar with Photoshop when I started however it allowed me to edit my photos and make them look more professional as well as creating my FC on Photoshop. I was completely unfamiliar with the software however I feel I am now a lot more familiar. I learned how to change the hue or saturation of the photo in order to make the picture look more vibrant or to enhance the colour of shadows in order to make the picture look professional. I also learned how to use layers which allowed me to create my FC. My front cover has a variety of layers such as the photo, masthead and cover lines to allow me to make changes to singular features of my FC. Google was a key feature for constructing my product as well. Whenever I was unfamiliar with a word or needed help on how to perform a task on Photoshop I would just google it. I used Google a lot before I started the coursework however it helped me create my product. I also used InDesign in order to create my CP and DPS. I was also unfamiliar with InDesign when I started my coursework but now am comfortable working on this software. I know how to create the page I am going to work on with the correct amount of columns, a bleed and an appropriate margin size. For example on my CP I have two columns whereas on my DPS I have three columns. I also learned how to use text wrap on InDesign. Using text wrap allowed me to use cover lines and have pictures in appropriate places with the text wrapping around it. When using the text wrap you can also decide the distance that the text is away from the image and how you want to wrap the text around it. This allowed me to use professional conventions in order to enhance the quality of my magazine. Overall I would not have been able to design this product at all without these technologies and they allow the product to look professional.

6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

When I started this coursework I was unfamiliar with all of the technologies we would be using such

as Photoshop, InDesign, blogger etc. Therefore throughout constructing this product I learned a lot. I

was not aware of blogger but I found it easy to understand. I set

up an account and learned how to post on my blog using a title

and attaching the post to a label so it can be easily identified. This

is how I organised my coursework on my blog. When posting on

blogger I also learned how to use slide share, issuu and scribd. I posted through these websites in

order to make my work more presentable. I learned that you need to post your work on to these

websites then find the embed code from the post. This embed code would allow you to post your

work on blogger with magazine like features such as a page flipping or as a slide show. This allowed

me to present my work more professionally on my blog. I also was unfamiliar with Photoshop when I

started however it allowed me to edit my photos and make

them look more professional as well as creating my FC on

Photoshop. I was completely unfamiliar with the software

however I feel I am now a lot more familiar. I learned how to change the hue or saturation of the

photo in order to make the picture look more vibrant or to enhance the colour of shadows in order

to make the picture look professional. I also learned how to use layers which allowed me to create

my FC. My front cover has a variety of layers such as the photo, masthead and cover lines to allow

me to make changes to singular features of my FC. Google was a key feature for constructing my

product as well. Whenever I was unfamiliar with a word or needed help on how to perform a task on

Photoshop I would just google it. I used Google a lot before I started the coursework however it

helped me create my product. I

also used InDesign in order to

create my CP and DPS. I was

also unfamiliar with InDesign

when I started my coursework

but now am comfortable

working on this software. I

know how to create the page I

am going to work on with the

correct amount of columns, a

bleed and an appropriate

margin size. For example on my

CP I have two columns whereas

on my DPS I have three

columns. I also learned how to

use text wrap on InDesign.

Using text wrap allowed me to

use cover lines and have

pictures in appropriate places with the text wrapping around it. When using the text wrap you can

also decide the distance that the text is away from the image and how you want to wrap the text

around it. This allowed me to use professional conventions in order to enhance the quality of my

magazine. Overall I would not have been able to design this product at all without these

technologies and they allow the product to look professional.
