Other Mission Opportunities in 2014 Brantley County Family Mission Trip—June Virginia (Team of 14) - July
On Wednesday evening, April 9, 2014, the Minister to Students Search committee will be introducing Mike Clements as their candidate to fill the position of Minister to Students here at First Baptist Church. That evening at 5:00 PM the church will have an opportunity to meet and fellowship with Mike and his family during Wednesday Night Supper. Then at 6:15 PM, Mike will have a message from God’s Word for our young people and they will have an opportunity to get to know Mike and ask questions. On Sunday morning, April 13, 2014, Mike will be preaching at both morning services. Following each service, the church will have the opportunity to vote on calling him to serve as our Minister to Students. While you will learn much more about Mike in the days to come, here are a few facts to get you started. Mike and his wife, Amber, have three children, Michael Ethan Clements (8), Joshua Randall Clements (6), and Carlina (Carli) Marie Clements (5). Mike is a graduate of Brewton-Parker College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a graduate of Liberty University Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts degree in Theological Studies. Mike has over 6 years of experience as a full-time minister and has worked extensively with youth throughout his adult life. He also has served as a counselor and law enforcement officer. Your search committee believes that Mike will do a great work in and among our youth and parents. Please be in prayer that God will lead our church into the very center of His perfect will. Finally, special thanks are in order for our search committee chaired by Kelly Gilliard. Other members include, Allison Brice, David Knight, Seab Lastinger, Terry Holste, Jonathan Shatto, as well as ex-officio member, Nathan Lingenfelter, and former members, Bill Butler and Blake Hendley.

in evangelizing the world with the Gospel. It allows North Metro to participate with 45,000 other congregations to do what our church could not do alone. Together we support over 11,000 international, home and state missionaries and ministries—our heart beat.
We need a volunteer to help with monthly food boxes. It only requires about an hour of your time and is only once per month on the fourth Tuesday. You would need to be here at 8:00 am. This person would help attach the cards to the boxes for pick-up and delivery. If this would be something you could do please contact Peggy in the FMC office or call 384-5598.

Responding to God’s Call
Benediction
This week I was reading the Triumphal Entry of Jesus on what we celebrate as Palm Sunday. I paused on the passage in the temple where the children were shouting praises to Jesus. The leaders were very disturbed by the children praising Him. Jesus replied, “Have you never read, ‘From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise’?” We have a GREAT opportunity and RESPONSIBILITY to teach our children about Christ. We are at WAR with the world for the future of our children. By our actions we show if we want to win them for Christ, or let the secular world win them. You can believe that they will be inundated with worldly concepts, and we need to step up and do our part. What is God calling you to do for the next generation? BENEVOLENCE
Flowers
The flowers placed in the sanctuary
are to the glory of God and in loving
memory of Kem & Elijah Waldron by
June Waldron & family.
What a privilege we have at First Baptist to help those who are struggling in life and need help spiritually and financially. Most of those who seek our help come to our offices during the week but there are a few who come for help on Sundays. It has been our experience that many, if not most of those who stop by our church for help on Sundays, have had this need for days. They tend to come on Sundays with a purpose. They know the ministers will not have time to deal with them nor will they be able to take the time to make phone calls to check their stories, thus the reason for coming just before or right after the service. Though we realize there may be an occasional person who truly
just found themselves in need on Sunday, we are asking our members to please ask those who are seeking benevolence help to come back Monday during regular business hours. By asking them to come during office
hours we can really do a better job of helping them as well as be better stewards of our benevolence funds. Thank you for your help in this matter.
