Overall purpose of this series on Marketplace

To understand and learn from various marketplace facts so that you can: • Be more effective and anointed wherever you are in the marketplace.

• Adapt and benchmark your marketplace practices and principles discussed in this series.

• Use these material to facilitate the work of evangelism.



Divine Connections• It is really all about the relationships that

God allows us to make as we walk through life.



Divine Connections• For those of us who are leaders in the

business world, He brings others into our path daily as we operate our business, as we travel, and as we fellowship with other believers in church, small groups, or meetings of various kinds.



Divine Connections• God has allowed me to have many special

relationships with others whom He has brought into my life through His divine connections.

• Paul had a special relationship with Timothy, whom he met on one of his many trips, and he wrote to Timothy in what we call 2 Timothy 1 in the Message bible:



Divine Connections• “I write this to you, Timothy, the son I love so

much…Every time I say your name in prayer-which is practically all the time-I thank God for you…I miss you a lot, especially when I remember that last tearful good-bye, and I look forward to a joy-packed reunion…That precious memory triggers another; your honest faith- and what a rich faith it is…the special gift of ministry you received when I laid hands on you and prayed-keep that ablaze!



Divine Connections• God doesn’t want us to be shy with his gifts, but

bold and loving and sensible…So don’t be embarrassed to speak up for our Master or for me, his prisoner.

• Take your share of suffering for the Message along with the rest of us.

• We can only keep on going, after all, by the power of God.”



Divine Connections• God gives us divine connections so that we can

form long term, short term, or one time relationships with other members of the Body of Christ or with someone who has not yet joined His family.



Divine Connections• Today as you work, are involved in family

activities, interact with others, travel, and make new friends, are you aware of the divine connections which could affect your life or the lives of others for eternity?



Divine Connections• Are you sensitive to God about how you

can be used in each of those lives for His Glory?

• Are you seeking to get ahead or are you seeking to serve?

• Are you realizing the benefits of divine connections in your everyday life?



Divine appointments• We do not have divine appointments

because you are in a church, or a Christian organization, or have a position in the community.

• We have divine appointments because you are a child of God and are constantly looking around you for where God is at work in the lives of co workers, customers, or vendors, or even competitors.



It is about Relationships

• Ministry is NOT about organisations or programs, but it is about Relationships.

• Two thousand years ago some business leaders met Jesus and just got excited and naturally shared their joy with others.



It is about Relationships

• Have we made ministry too difficult?

• It is simply sharing Jesus with a friend and encouraging them to not give up as they walk through life.



Psalm 37:5

• Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust Him to help you do it, and He will.

- We all carry cares and concerns.- We need to take our cares and roll them onto God.



Psalm 37:5• At the same time we must lean on, rely

on and trust God. As we do this, God can bring the desires of our hearts to pass.

PRAYER: Lord, I place ALL my cares and concerns in Your hands right now. Fill me with Your peace. Amen.



Prayer Focus• Father, In the name of Jesus, I

surrender myself to walk in the Word in the marketplace. Your word living in me produces the Life in this world.

• The word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. It makes my way plain before me.

• I boldly and confidently say that my heart is fixed and established on the solid foundation – the Living Word of God! Amen



Learning, application and commitment: James 1: 22-25

• “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves.

• Do what it says. • Anyone who listens to the word but does not do

what it says is like a man who looks at his face in the mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.

• But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it - he will be blessed in what he does.” (NIV)
