6 Step Social Media Strategy Step 1. Determine the purpose of your social media activity Determine the purpose of your social media activity to pick the right platforms and create effective

content for each platform.

Ask yourself what is the goal?

What do you want the world to know about your farm? Farmers? Agriculture?

Step 2. Pick your platforms Your choice of platforms and the content you publish on those platforms should reflect your purpose(s).

Favorable platforms are the platforms your target customers are already using.

Consider what kind of content you like to produce, pick platforms that support that kind of content.

Step 3. Establish accounts and set up profiles Keep usernames consistent across platforms.

Optimize web search results SEO with relevant keywords in your profile descriptions.

Make it easy for followers to find you on multiple platforms with buttons and widgets to link accounts to

each other and your website.

Step 4. Create content Rule of thirds: 1/3 content to educate, 1/3 entertain, 1/3 business sales

Inject personality and have fun with followers.

Think like a follower to create engaging content.

Step 5. Advertise Each platform’s ad manager is unique, but the process of placing an ad is similar across all platforms.
