STANDARD FACTORY set up is 1" chip size * sold with babbitt spacer installed at Factory

NOTE: Knife extension, setback, and feed speed may need adjustment to attain desired chip size. To insure proper clamping of the knives, all surfaces must be clean. All clamp bolts should be tightened to a lubricated (anti-seize) torque value of 400 ft-lbs (542 Nm). If the retainer bolts must be reinstalled, use Blue Loctite® and torque to 39.5 ft-lbs (53.6 Nm). Peterson recommends replacing all clamp bolts and flange nuts after knives have been changed out 20 times or replace them immediately if bolts show any signs of damage. Consider the cost of replacing relatively inexpensive fasteners with the cost of replacing an expensive knife assembly when determining whether fasteners can be reused. For more information on chipper knives, contact the Peterson Service Depart-ment or refer to your Peterson Maintenance Manual. All Peterson chipper & counter knives listed are made of A8 steel.
