Johnson matched her career highs in both caused turnovers and ground balls, with four of each. The JMU defense held HPU without a goal for 23 minutes to take the lead for good and kept the Panthers off the scoreboard for the final 13 minutes to ice the game. SCOUTING CANISIUS• The Griffins come to town with an 0-3 record,

having taken losses at Notre Dame (4-21), at Robert Morris (10-11 OT) and against No. 5 Northwestern (6-20).

• Canisius averages 6.67 goals per outing while conceding 17.33 to its foes.

• Jen Reininger leads the team with seven goals and 18 draw controls, while Jourdan Roemer has scored six goals.

• Allison Daley is in her second season at her alma mater, as she holds an 11-12 record at the helm. In her first season, Daley led the Griffins to an 11-9 record (6-2 MAAC) and a berth in the Metro Atlantic title game. She has previous coaching experience in the CAA, having spent the 2017 season at Delaware.

• The Dukes held Virginia Tech without a goal for over 11 minutes three times in their first win of the year. They followed that up with back-to-back games not allowing a goal for a span of 23 minutes against both UConn and High Point.

DUKES THE FAVORITE TO WIN CAA• JMU was picked as the preseason favorite to win

the Colonial Athletic Association title for a third straight season in 2019.

• The Dukes received the maximum six first-place votes and 36 points, while rival Towson was selected second with one first-place vote and 31 points. Elon was third, followed by Hofstra, Delaware, Drexel and William & Mary.

• JMU has won the CAA regular-season title in seven of the past nine seasons, winning five tournament championships during that span. The Dukes have claimed the regular-season crown in each of the previous three seasons, winning the tournament in 2017 and 2018.

DOUGHERTY, HAGGERTY PLAY FOR TEAM USA• A pair of JMU sophomores were afforded the opportunity to compete with the best players in the world, as

both were part of Team USA.

• Both Molly Dougherty and Charlotte Haggerty were named to the U.S. National Team’s roster at the IWLCA President’s Cup in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. in November.

• From there, Dougherty also earned a roster spot for the team’s trip to Palo Alto, Calif., for the Spring Premiere at Stanford in January.

• Additionally, 2018 All-American Elena Romesburg joined Dougherty and Haggerty on Team USA back in November.

BOISSONNEAULT TO COACH WITH CANADA U-19• Associate Head Coach Emily Boissonneault was named an assistant coach for Canada’s U-19 National Team.

• Boissonneault will be part of a staff that will prepare Canada’s future stars for next summer’s 2019 FIL U-19 Women’s Field Lacrosse World Championship, which will be held in Peterborough, Ontario.

• Her primary responsibility as an assistant coach will be working with the team’s defensive unit.

JMU ON LSN TWICE, ALL HOME GAMES STREAMED• JMU will appear on Lax Sports Network twice this season, as both the Towson and Elon home games will

be the CAA Game of the Week.

• It’s the first time JMU hosts two LSN games during the regular season.

• Five home games will be streamed on MadiZONE HD SportsNet in Temple, Virginia, Maryland, San Diego State and William & Mary.

• JMU’s home games with High Point, Canisius and Rutgers will be on MadiZONE audio and seen on JMUSports Facebook Live.
