Name___________________________________________________________________ Chess Notation: Level 1 For the majority of chess moves, you will write down the name of the piece followed by the square that it moves to. For example, a Bishop that moves to f5 is written “Bf5”; a Knight that moves to c6 is written “Nc6” and so forth. For Pawn moves, you simply write down the square that the Pawn moves to. If a Pawn goes from b2 to b4, you write “b4”; if it moves from a7 to a6, you’d write “a6” etc. Remember these abbreviations: N means Knight B means Bishop R means Rook Q means Queen K means King (Pawns have no abbreviation) Using this knowledge, how would you notate the following opening, known as the Giuoco Piano?
