Prefixes

• milli is shortened to m. It means divide by 1 000 or add x10-3 to the number. e.g. 23 mA = 23x10-3 A.

• micro is shortened to m. It means divide by 1 000 000 or add x10-6. e.g. 23 mA = 23 x10-6 A.

• nano is shortened to n. It means divide by 1 000 000 000 or add x10-9 to the number. e.g. 23 nA = 23x10-9 A.

• kilo is shortened to k. It means multiply by 1 000 or add x103 to the number. e.g. 23 kA = 23x103 A.

• mega is shortened to M. It means multiply by 1 000 000 or add x106 to the number. e.g. 23 MA = 23x106 A.

• giga is shortened to G. It means multiply by 1 000 000 000 or add x109
