BENEFIT PANCAKE BREAKFAST TODAY SUNDAY, MAY 20, 2018

8:30AM—12:30PM

Church Social Hall

Hosted and prepared by St. Patrick Men’s Club

**MOTHERS EAT FREE**

St. Patrick Men’s club will again host and prepare a Sunday breakfast honoring all “mothers” during this

mother’s month of May. This breakfast has been co-sponsored by St. Patrick parishioners. Co-sponsors this

year are: Ayers contracting (Bill Ayers), Don & Joyce Crouch, Glen Lake Beauty Salon (Sherri Ricard),

Richard & Joann Sarber, Charles & Tanya Struble, Walter, Joann, Brian & Maureen Wilczynski, and

Jerry Wozniak. Benefits of this breakfast will be donated to our St. Patrick Food Pantry!

All “moms” are invited to register for one of 3 “buddy boxes” to be given away after the noon breakfast.

PANTRY FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITY WITH

MEIJER STORES SIMPLY GIVE PROGRAM St. Patrick Church Pantry is a member of the Northwest Food Coalition, a Coalition comprised of 60 pan-

tries and meal sites in six counties. For the 2018 Spring Campaign, which runs from May 13 – June 17, the

Meijer stores in Acme and Traverse City teamed up and selected the Northwest Food Coalition as its recipi-

ent.

During the program, customers will be encouraged to purchase one or more $10 Simply Give donation

cards upon checkout at both stores. Once purchased, the customer will be given a receipt for their dona-

tion. On June 1, Meijer will double match every customer’s $10 Simply Give donation, up to a maximum of

$25,000.

At the end of the campaign, all donations will be converted into Meijer gift cards and given to the Coalition.

The Coalition will divide the gift cards among the pantries based on the amount of money on receipts sub-

mitted by each pantry’s supporters.

If you wish to support the St. Patrick Pantry, please consider purchasing a Simply Give donation card di-

rectly at the store, copy the receipt and submit to the Church office (either through the Sunday collection or

by dropping off at the office). OR, please consider making a cash donation to St. Patrick Church Pantry,

marking the check or envelope with “Simply Give.” The pantry will accumulate all donations and purchase

the Simply Give cards on June 1 to triple their impact. If you have any questions, please contact: Mary Clulo

at 943-7954.

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING HUNGER RELIEF EFFORTS IN OUR COMMUNITY!

“It is the Soldier”………….

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press

It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech

It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has give us the right to demonstrate

It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has give us the right to a fair trial

It is the soldier, not the pastor, who has given us the right to worship

It is the soldier, not the politician, who has given us the right to vote

It is the soldier, who salutes the flag, serves under the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag,

who gives the protester the right to burn the flag……….

OLD ENGINE SHOW—SAVE THE DATES!

It’s that time to start thinking about this year’s Old

Engine Show. Here are some important dates to

add to your calendar: Kick Off Potluck Dinner will

be June 20th. Food Prep at St. Pat’s will be Mon-

day, August 13th. The Show dates will be Thursday

August 16th—19th. More information to follow!

DIRECT YOUR DOLLARS We have $58,126 in Family Fare register receipts

already toward our Second Goal of $150,000.

Please continue to put Family Fare receipts in the

container in the hallway off the vestibule near the

restrooms. Thank you!

*************************************

DIRECT YOUR LABELS Family Fare has a new house brand of products

called OUR FAMILY. For every 500 UPC’s not logos

collected, we receive $25.00. We need the labels

with the UPC Code.

They can be put in the second container in the vesti-

bule near the restrooms. Thank You.

A CALL FOR MORE USHERS: Recently I gave

the ushers some added responsibility, with regard

to their procedures during Mass. I’m anticipating

that they will need to increase their numbers in or-

der to fulfill what I’ve requested. So please give

some consideration to the idea of becoming an

usher at Mass. If you are interested, feel free to call

the office. Or you can approach one of the ushers

after Mass, to learn more about what all is involved.

Thank you for being willing to help. Fr. Greg
