THE PACESETTER: Sony Pictures Releasing tops the list of the largest motion picture distribu-tors, with $1.79 billion in domestic box office receipts last year. Its top release was the James Bond film “Skyfall,” which grossed $291 million domestically for 2012 and topped $300 million in January. Other top releas-es include “The Amazing Spider-Man” and “Men in Black 3,” which grossed $262 million and $179 million, respectively.
