Recognized as one of the most effi cient and powerful means in effectively providing a trade platform, The 5th OIC World BIZ “Business and Investment Zone” Exhibition and Conference 2014 (formerly known as Muslim World BIZ) is in its fi fth installation this year. The Event, is a one of its kind trade activity organized by the OIC International Business Centre, in cooperation with the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT), envisioned to be the biggest Exhibition & Conference in the region by 2015 and the biggest in the world by 2020. The 5th OIC World BIZ 2014 will be held again in Malaysia after the successes of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th OIC World Business & Investment Zone.

The Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT) is a subsidiary organ of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) with 56 Member States. It is based in Casablanca, Morocco and has conducted several trade activities which include fairs, trade shows and tecnical assistance in various OIC Countries to strengthen intra-community trade.

The main aim is to enhance intra-trade among Muslim countries while providing an ideal generation platform for governments, corporations, international investors, industry players and entrepreneurs from all parts of the world to explore joint ventures, investment and trade opportunities in the Muslim World.

Incorporating with this world class event, the OIC Education Conference 2014 will be held to share ideas on how higher education institutions in the Muslim World could work better with business, government and wider society at large to enable OIC countries to remain competitive, innovative and strategically agile during this period of immense economic uncertainty.

1st MUSLIM WORLD BIZ 2010

Pioneering Islamic Intra-Trade

2010 - The inaugural Muslim World BIZ Business & Investment Zone, Conference & Exhibition was held from 4th -6th June 2010, at the prestigious Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. Comprised of a 2 day Conference and a 3 day Exhibition, this first edition of Muslim World BIZ had featured 270 exhibitors from 12 participating countries. There were 200 International delegates who took part in the Conference which was divided into five sessions that covered relevant topic like Islamic Banking, Global Trends of Halal, Tourism, IT and the Education segment. The event was launched by YABhg Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, the Former Prime Minister of Malaysia.

2011 - In line with its theme “The Forces of Many. The Vision of One” the 2nd Muslim World Business & Investment Zone (MWBIZ) in 2011 had created a rewarding avenue in promoting economic cooperation and exploring joint ventures, investment and trade opportunities available in the Muslim World. Held for 4 consecutive days from 8th – 11th June 2011, the event was officiated by YB Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop, the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Malaysia during the Gala Dinner at the Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur. The 4 Day Exhibition was well attended by quality trade visitors who had visited 350 booths with 297 exhibitors who took part from 17 participating countries and there were 350 delegates of related sectors from various countries who joined the important dialogue held.

2012 - As a centre of business activity, the Jakarta Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KADIN Jakarta) took the leading role as the co-organizer for the 3rd Muslim World BIZ 2012 with the main objective to encourage economic activity globally. Muslim World BIZ 2012 which was held from 13th – 16th September 2012 which was regarded as an important juncture aligned with the focus to transform Jakarta Service City in becoming the Central of Trade, Information, Tourism and International investment towards globalization. There were 492 International exhibitors who took part and 150 delegates had attended the conferences.

2013 - With the year’s theme “Enriching Borderless Economy”, The 4th OIC World BIZ Exhibition & Conference was held from 25th – 28th September 2013 at the prestigious Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) Kuala Lumpur Malaysia which comprised of a 4 day Exhibition at PWTC and 4 days of conferences namely, 2nd OIC-ASIA Trade & Economic Forum (25th – 26th) , OIC Higher Education Conference (27th) and 2nd World Islamic Tourism Conference (28th) all held at Pan Pacific Hotel Kuala Lumpur . The 4th OIC World BIZ featured 464 Exhibitors from over 30 participating countries, 700 delegates both local and foreign took part in the Forum and Conferences. The event was officiated by the Minister of International Trade & Industry Malaysia (MITI) YB Dato’ Seri Mustapa Bin Mohamed representing the Prime Minister , YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak. During the Gala Luncheon 10 recipients received the Jewels of Muslim Award 2013 honoured by OIC Today Magazine. Among the recipients were well-known personalities and Muslim World business leaders from Malaysia and other parts of the world.
