On Friday, May 4th, we had 12 students from Saint John’s High School for two hours of service work. These students did a marvelous job in cleaning out the usher closets, vacuumed sacristy and confessional, removed small fallen branches from our cemetery, and much more. Among the student workers were our very own parishioners Abby Bonifas, Blake Fischbach, Chase Martin, Abbey Meyer and Curtis Mueller We are grateful to Mr. Adam Lee, Mrs. Kim Honigford, and the staff of Saint John’s High School for being such good examples of service.Maybe It’s a SignWe thank Karen Pohlman for donating copies of the book “Maybe It’s a Sign.” This book contains pictures and scripture quotes from different Churches. The book was written by her niece Marlane Cox and are available on the marble table!

Family PromiseLima Family Promise along with The Delphos Ministerial Association would like to invite all of you to an informational dinner meeting regarding our service to the homeless. If you are interested in volunteering a couple hours of your time once or twice a year to this worthy cause, please RSVP to let us know that you will be coming. There is no cost to attend, we would just like a count for food purposes. The dinner meeting will be Tuesday, May 22nd at 6 pm at Trinity United Methodist Church on Third St. in Delphos. If you are breathing, you are a qualified volunteer! We will be thanking past volunteers and answering any questions from prospective volunteers. We would love to see you and bring a friend! RSVP by May 15th to Nancy Bonifas call or text 419-771-8611, or Tori Bockey call or text 419-203-4259.Honoring “OUR” Adult SeniorsWe would like to invite all our seniors to a special luncheon on June 15th at 12:00 at the Depot. This is a great time for us to gather, enjoy each others company and to thank you for your presence in our lives. Anyone 65 and older that has any ties to Landeck is welcome to attend. We will be happy to supply car rides for anyone in need. For more information please call the parish house at 419-692-0636 or Dave and Shelly Kroeger 419-233-7316.

Spring Clean-UpOn Saturday, May 19th, we will have a spring clean-up day. We will be raking, spraying for weeds, edging, trimming bushes and much more. If anyone has some time, please feel free to come and help. We will begin with donuts, juice and coffee at 9:00 a.m. and then begin to work. Please bring gloves, rakes, or any garden tools that you think is needed. Lunch will be provided. Don’t worry, I, Sister, will not cook…you are safe!!!Happy Mother’s DayToday as we, thank God for the gift of Motherhood we take time to thank all those Mothers that are still with us on earth and pray for all those that are with us in heaven.

The flowers by the Blessed Mother are in honor of all our mothers that are in heaven. Also, as a special prayer of

remembrance we have placed a blue sanctuary light by the Blessed Mother in honor of all the woman in our parish. This candle is for all our intentions we hold in our hearts.

Landeck Community Landeck Community meeting is set for Monday, May 14, right after the 7pm Mass at the Tavern.  All are welcome!

Cemetery MassOn May 28th, Memorial Day, we will have a special Mass on our cemetery grounds. It gives us a special opportunity to pray for all those buried in our cemetery and ask them to pray for us, as we all journey to heaven. Mass will be at 9:00 a.m. instead of 7:00 p.m. We ask if people could please bring their own lawn chairs or blankets for your children. If it rains, Mass will still be at 9:00 a.m., but in our Church instead of outside. We will also have a special collection at this Mass for the upkeep of our cemetery. We will have coffee, juice and donuts after Mass. Our cemetery is truly “Holy Ground” for all of us!

Help NeededAfter the AC company is done, we would like to Spring Clean the Church basement. As you can imagine we have many layers of dust. If you are able to help, please call the parish office. Thank you very much!

First CommunionWe would like to congratulate Nicholas Gaynier, Katherine Hemker and Stella Meyer who have received First Communion on May 6th, with their homeroom class, at Delphos Saint John’s. May they always know the incredible love that God has for them.

PRIESTHOOD ORDINATIONMeet the three men of the Diocese of Toledo who are being ordained to

the priesthood on Saturday, May 26, 2018.

DEACON KYLE GASEI am Deacon Kyle Gase, 32 years old, from St. Wendelin Parish in Fostoria. I am going to be ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Toledo on May 26 by Bishop Thomas, along with my two classmates. This will be the culmination of 9 years of seminary formation –four years of undergraduate studies at the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, and five years of graduate theological studies at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary of the West in Cincinnati. I am sincerely looking forward to serving Our Lord as one of His priests, and especially serving the good people of the Diocese of Toledo in parish ministry. I humbly ask for your prayers as I approach ordination. Who knows –I may be blessed to serve you as your parish priest someday!

DEACON SCOTT PERRYHello, my name is Deacon Scott Perry. I am originally from Tiffin, and my home parish is St. Joseph. My parents, Roger and Jane, live in Tiffin, and I have three younger siblings – Emily, Kevin, and Kaitlin. I graduated from Calvert High School in 2006 and from Ohio State University in 2010 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. It was during college when I began to feel a strong call to the priesthood. In 2011, I entered formation at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Cincinnati where I have been the past 7 years. What a blessing it has been to encounter so many people along my journey at the various parishes and places where I have served as a seminarian. I am very excited for my ordination to the priesthood

and am grateful for all of your prayers and encouragement as I take this important step in answering God’s call for my life.

DEACON ANDREW WELLMANNHello! My name is (Deacon/Father) Andrew Wellmann. I am from Saint John the Evangelist Parish in Delphos, Ohio. After graduating from Delphos St. John’s in 2009, I attended Ohio Northern University for one year. My seminary formation began at the Pontifical College Josephinum and concluded at Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary of the West. The kindness, generosity, and unwavering support from so many throughout our diocese have made these years of prayer and study possible and fruitful. Thank you for supporting me and all of my brother seminarians during our years of discernment. Trusting in your continued prayers, I eagerly anticipate serving as a priest in our diocese. Know of my prayers for all of you as I joyfully approach the altar of God.
