At American First Credit Union, we are about people helping people. The success of American First in 2016 was made possible by you – our members. The dedication of our associates over the past 64 years to help our

members succeed financially set the momentum that will enable us to grow with you in the future.

During the year, we provided our members with nearly $300 million in loans. We were honored to help members obtain new homes, vehicles, investment properties and offer a no–fee credit card. Our members opened over 1,900 checking accounts as they saw the benefits of such things as our Totally Free Checking account and mobile banking services. Our mission of partnering with our members to improve their

financial lives was evident throughout the year.

Serving our community has been a hallmark of American First throughout its long history. In 2016, we built on this history by joining Relay for Life to fight cancer, The Children’s Museum at La Habra to educate our kids, Tara’s

Chance to help special needs children through equine therapy, and WHW to provide the unemployed the opportunity to find a good job.

On behalf of our volunteer Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee, we are proud of the American First Credit Union associates for their keen focus on serving our members, communities, and employee groups with caring attention. American First knows you come to us for more than doing banking transactions. Whether it’s buying your first home, saving for your children’s education or planning for your retirement, you come to us with some of the most important areas of your life. We are humbled to partner with you to help make your financial dreams come true. Thank you for being an American First member.

We look forward to celebrating our 65th anniversary with you in 2017. The momentum created with our faithful members over the years propels us to continue to loyally serve you for many more years to come.

Tom CookChairman of the Board

SuPerviSorY CoMMiTTee rePorTOn behalf of the Supervisory Committee, I am pleased to report that American First Credit Union is managed

prudently so that we can continue to provide exceptional service to our members. Our primary role is advocating for our members and providing assurance that the operations of the credit union are carried out in

accordance with applicable laws, rules and regulations of the California Department of Business Oversight and the National Credit Union Administration. Related to this, we also oversee the safety and soundness of American First.

Based on the activity of our external auditors, internal auditors, and examiners, as well as our own observations, we can report that American First continues to maintain a high level of financial safety and

soundness. Along with our Board of Directors, all of us on the Supervisory Committee are proud to volunteer our time and serve the members of American First as liaisons between you and your credit union. If ever you

need assistance or experience difficulties that cannot be resolved through normal channels, I encourage you to contact us. The Supervisory Committee is here for your benefit.

Thank you for being an American First member and entrusting us with your financial needs.
