Dear Friends and Families of Corpus Christi School and Parish:

Welcome to the 52nd Annual Crab Feed and Auction! It is an amazing accomplishment that for over 50 years, the Corpus Christi Community has gathered to partake in an evening of good food and drink, music and merriment, with the common goal of raising money to support the school and parish. This is the largest fundraiser of the year and the revenue supports a host of school and church endeavors. Art programs, technology and teacher bonuses – as well as facility improvements – are made possible through the funds raised at this annual event.

The event really begins with your donations, which once again are incredible! The Crab Feed and Auction event is successful because of the generous contributions of so many. We thank you all – parishioners, teachers, students, school and parish staff – for all the time and talent you share! To the local businesses who support our community, we extend our heartfelt gratitude and will continue to show our appreciation by our patronage. This event would not be possible without your support.

We hope you have a wonderful evening tonight, just as we have been doing for 52 years. It is a time to celebrate our community and our school. We thank you for joining us!

Thank you,

This year you have the opportunity to make a difference in the scholastic experience of our children and students and for those future generations. All of your POPS donations will be directed to a fund for much needed classroom renovations.

Live Auction Protocol

• The live auction will begin at 8:30 pm during the 2nd half of dinner.

• To bid on an item, raise your bidder number (on the back of your catalog) high in the air.

• All bids must be acknowledged by the auctioneer to be considered.

• All bids start at a minimum figure and will be raised in increments indicated by the auctioneer.

• If bidding is not commensurate with the item value, the auctioneer may reject all bids and withdraw the item from sale.

• “Dream Team” representatives will be stationed throughout the auditorium to help ensure your bid is registered.

Descriptions of the Live Auction Items w ill be provided separately.

P a g e | 18

Silent Auction Protocol

• To bid on an item, you need an assigned bidder number! If you do not have a bidder number, please request one prior to the Auction, during the Auction Preview, or when you check in the evening of the event.

• To bid on a specific item, please enter your bidder number, family name, and bid

amount on the appropriate bid sheet. All three are required!

• Be sure to note what type of bidding rule is in place. For example: Highest bidder: If you really want the item, your bid needs to be the highest

one when the tables close. Six highest bidders win: If your bid is one of the six highest bids when the

tables close, you win! Bids can fall within a broad range, but the six highest will win!

Party Maximum: Pay close attention to the maximum allowed at each party and whether you are asked to sign up per person or per couple/family on each bidder line.

• Please note that every item in the catalog includes the donor’s name and item value. • Please respect minimum bid and raise amounts printed on the bid sheets. • To ‘raise’ an existing bid, enter your bidder number, name and bid amount on the next

available line on the bid sheet. • Please be sure to write the correct bidder number and name down and print clearly.

Every year, we have several instances of winning bidder numbers that do not match the names written next to them.

• Only use your assigned bidder number! Do NOT bid for other families! • Please observe table closing times. All tables will close at 7:15 pm. The table closers

will come around and draw a line through the bid sheet when bidding is closed on that item. Please stand back when the table closer reaches the bid sheet. When the bid sheet is ‘closed,’ no more bids are allowed on that item. NO EXCEPTIONS!

• Please do not remove bid sheets from the tables.

In an effort to make the most of our resources, the 52nd Crab Feed & Auction Committees have continued to make changes the Auction program:

• We’ve inserted our advertising Crab Pages into this catalog, rather than providing them in a separate book.

• Instead of receiving paper gift certificates for parent/student parties and teacher offerings, winners will notice that contact and event information is printed directly on their invoices. Please retain your catalog in order to reference the fine print of the items you’ve won.

• When disposing of your catalog, please remember to recycle it with your paper waste…and plan to reduce, reuse, and recycle tonight and all year long!
