Greetings from the Team at Avidor!I cannot believe we are entering our fifth month of

being open! This is a busy month with preparing forthe (I shouldn’t even say it!) colder weather, with ourpool closing, patio furniture being put away, and matsand shovels being brought out of storage. On apersonal note, I also have my wedding this month!Thank you to all those who have wished me well andgiven advice – I will be sure to bring in photosafterward. I will be taking off a few days before andafter, so I will be gone from October 16th-21st,returning on the 22nd.

Please continue to let us know how we can be ofservice to you and what types of events you would liketo see happen here – I know Amy has a lot of funthings planned for this month, themed around fall.Enjoy the orange and red in the trees, the smells ofpumpkin and apple, and spending time with lovedones before some go to destinations with warmerweather. We continue to love working here, to make ita great home for you! Remember to attend the TownHall Meeting at the end of each month, to hear anyother updates that come up.

The Fall Classic

Each October, the World Series crowns the best team in Major League Baseball.

Here’s a roster of some milestone moments for the Fall Classic.

Year Milestone

1903 The first World Series is played. The Boston Americans defeat the

Pittsburgh Pirates.

1910 A baseball with a cork center, rather than rubber, is used for the first time.

1922 The New York Giants are the first champs to receive World Series rings.

1956 New York Yankee Don Larsen pitches the only perfect game in

Series history.

1967 The first Commissioner’s Trophy is awarded to the winning team, the

St. Louis Cardinals.

1987 Minneapolis’ Metrodome hosts the first World Series games played indoors.

1992 The Toronto Blue Jays are the first team from outside the U.S. to win

the Series.

2003 MLB awards home-field advantage to the winner of the All-Star Game.

2016 Ending the longest title drought in pro sports, the Chicago Cubs win the

Series after 108 years.

1908: Called America’s other national anthem, “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” becomes a bestselling hit. It is now an MLB tradition for fans to sing the song during the seventh inning stretch.

1913: The Lincoln Highway, the country’s first coast-to-coast roadway, is formally dedicated.

1949: American novelist William Faulkner wins the Nobel Prize in literature.

1959: Thousands line up for the opening of the Guggenheim in New York City. The modern art museum’s unique spiral shape was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

1982: At Florida’s Walt Disney World, the Epcot theme park opens and features attractions that celebrate technological innovations and world cultures.

1998: The first American to orbit the Earth, John Glenn returns to space aboard the shuttle Discovery. At age 77, he was the oldest person to travel into space.

2006: The U.S. population reaches 300 million.

2015: “Spectre,” the 24th film in the James Bond series, premieres in London.
