It is hard to believe that we have come to the end of the 2019 calendar year. It has been a wonderful fall and as we close out 2019, it is nice to take me to reflect and share the successes of the students at East Elementary. It has been another successful fall and I connue to be impressed with the students of East who have been working diligently, learning all the necessary skills to make them successful, strong cizens. Their classrooms are full of learning and excite- ment as well as teachers and staff who care deeply for them. I trust that each of you had a wonderful conference visit with your childs teacher(s). I know how valuable communicaon is to each of you, and your childs teacher believes the same. This is a reminder that at certain mes of the year, our teachers and specialists formavely assess groups of students to measure progress during the year. During the month of January, East Elementary will be administering a variety of formave assessments. We use the results to provide connued support for learning in the classroom. If you should have any quesons about your child's pro- gress, that you did not receive during conferences, please contact your child's teacher or admin- istraon. Addionally, we cannot thank you enough for your generosity with the PTO and Ballard Educaonal Foundaon. Your PTO donaons provided a lovely conference dinner for our staff and the Foundaon has once again provided many new books and materials for our teachers to use with your children. Once again, our East families have gone above and beyond. As the winter break approaches, we look forward to celebrang during our class pares on De- cember 20th. Our students have been given many opportunies to recognize our great communi- ty and also connue tradions that make Ballard a great place to live and learn. From the annual BBQ, homecoming, music concerts, fall and winter pares, above and beyond awards, student council Toys for Tots to many more, students and staff have worked together to build relaon- ships and celebrate the many opportunies we have been given. Ballard is a great place that works because we all work together to help empower all learners. In closing, when we ALL work together as a learning community and do things with our students' best interest as the focus, we become a GREAT school! If I can ever be of assistance, please call or email me. It is through being a collaborave learning community with consistent, honest, and open communicaon that we can best serve our students. Thanks for the opportunity to serve our GREAT community and I wish you all a happy holiday. We cant wait to see you in 2020! Best regards, Mr. Michael Manock, Principal

This is a reminder that at certain times of the year, our teachers and specialists formatively assess groups of students to measure progress during the year. During the month of January, East Elementary will be administering a variety of formative assessments. We use the results to provide continued support for learning in the classroom. If you should have any questions about your child's pro-gress, that you did not receive during conferences, please contact your child's teacher or admin-istration. Additionally, we cannot thank you enough for your generosity with the PTO and Ballard Educational Foundation. Your PTO donations provided a lovely conference dinner for our staff and the Foundation has once again provided many new books and materials for our teachers to use with your children. Once again, our East families have gone above and beyond. As the winter break approaches, we look forward to celebrating during our class parties on De-cember 20th.
