INTRODUCTION

Introduction OF Company

In 1990,Ginni Filaments Ltd.(GFL)was commissioned with 26208 spindles to produce ultrafine combed cotton yarn. A 100% export oriented unit, it was designed to produce a quality that was genuinely world class. Sophisticated plant & machinery from the world renowned machinery manufacturers viz. Rieter, Schlafhorst, Volkmannetc. with top of the line support systems for quality monitoring were installed.

Located in Tehsil Chatta, Distt. Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, GFL has consistently grown from one strength to another. Installed capacity today stands at 60336 spindles with a capacity of 1000 tonnes per month.

The product range includes 100% combed cotton yarns from Ne16 to Ne50, both in single and double ply construction.

In January 1998, GFL embarked upon an ambitious expansion project by entering the arena forOpen End Yarn.GFL has 1680 rotors with a capacity to produce 600 tonnes per month of open end yarn in the count range of Ne 6 to 20. Products have been well accepted by buyers around the world.

The company also manufactures TFO doubled, compact spun, elitwist and gassed yarns

The company has also graduated intoknitted fabricsand installed 26 knitting machines fromM/s. TerrotandMayerto produce Single Jersey, Interlock, Rib Terry and Lycra fabrics. Since April 2005, GFL has expanded intoprocessed knitted fabrics. The complete machinery have been imported fromThies&Santex. Ginni has started working with some leading European brands and other global brands likeBenetton,C & A,Allen Solly,Van Heusen,J C Pennyetc. The success story at GFL is the story of evolution of single minded devotion to quality. The company obtained the ISO 9002 certification as early as 1996 and also got the recognised as Trading house by the Govt. Of India.

Inorder to get fully vertically integrated and be present from fibre to fashion, Ginni Filaments Limited has entered garment business with it's first unit in Noida in Sept. 2006, with a capacty of 2,50,000 pcs per month. The capacity would be increased to one million pcs per month in a phased manner.

The plant for spunlace non woven fabrics with an installed capacity of 12,000 MT/p.a. which is the first of its kind in India commenced production in March, 2007 in Panoli Industrial Estate, Gujarat.

Converted products made out of spunlace non woven fabrics have been launched by the company in the Indian Market

The scope of this study is limited to finding out ERP system is Implemented in the Company or not. The area of study is Pritika Auto cast Pvt. Ltd at Bathu (H.P) only.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Research is an art of scientific investigation. It is defined as A careful investigation or enquiry especially through search for new facts in any branch of knowledge. Research is a movement from the known to the unknown. It is actually a voyage of discovery. Research refers to the systematic method consisting of enunciating the problem, collecting the facts or data, analyzing the facts and reaching certain conclusions in the form of solutions towards the concerned problem.

This chapter presents the methodology that will be use in the conduct of this study and will include the discussion of research design, samplings, respondents, data gathering and statistical instrument used.

Research design

A research design specifies the methods and procedures for conducting a particular study. Broadly speaking, there are 3 categories of research design exploratory, descriptive and casual research.

An exploratory research focuses on the discovery of ideas and is generally based on secondary data. A descriptive study is undertaken when the researcher wants to know the characteristics of certain groups such as age, educational level, income, occupation, etc. A casual research is undertaken when the researcher is interested in knowing the cause and effect relationship between two or more variables.

The type of research used in this study is descriptive research. The study was structured and was rigid and its approach remained the same throughout the study.

Research design is the blue print of the action for this study.

Following method was adopted during study-

Defining objective of the study.

Formation of questionnaire to capture primary data.

Analysis and interpretation of primary data.

Conclusion out of primary and secondary data.

Sources of data

The sources of data used in this project report are both primary and secondary data.

Primary data

Primary data consists of original information gathered for specific purposes at hand. These are gathered for a specific purpose or for a specific research project. Primary data was collected Questionnaire.

Secondary data

Secondary data consists of information that already exist and that were being collected in the past for some other purposes. Secondary data used in this study were collected from websites.

This table clearly implies that the ERP software has beem implemented in the networking sector of GINNI FILAMENTS LTD in the Human Resource and the Production Sectors.

The allocation in the financial sector is done with the help of Tally.

While the costs of the software implementation was met for the human resource and the production trades,the above written notions indicates why the same was not implemented in the financial sector.

Findings

As per the ananlysis it has been discovered that the ERP implementation software hasnt been implemented in all the sectors of the company.

The results of the analysis are:

Company dont use special software as ERP for all its departments.

Company use only Tally for their Financial Information system.

Company has some other priorities & want to wait for price down of special softwares.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Company should use the ERP softwares to better utilization of company resources.

Through use of ERP software company will be able to reduce their paper work.

To buy ERP software is a one time cost and it will help the company to reduce their cost in different ways.
