What about when there’s no piano?1. Do some pages in your theory workbook.2. Listen to your pieces (CD or YouTube) while playing on “air piano”.3. Listen to your pieces while pointing along with the score.4. Practice your note naming flashcards.5. Practice clapping rhythms.6. Practice sight singing using solfa.7. Use a note naming app 8. NinGenius (Apple only)9. Flashnote Derby (Android and Apple)

10. Play Piano Maestro using the on-screen keyboard.11. Borrow a music theory game from your teacher and play it with a friend.12. Ask someone to quiz you on your scales. They can ask you how many sharps or flats, and the

fingering for any scale you know.13. Write down every dynamic and tempo mark you know, without looking in your book.14. Sing your pieces instead of playing them. If there are no words, make up your own!15. Go through your pieces naming all the intervals (distances between notes).16. Learn about a famous composer.17. Read a book about music history or music theory.18. Learn about music time periods (Baroque, Classical, Romantic).19. Compose a piece on staff paper. Sing it to yourself to see how it might sound.
