2 Introduction

Our story begins on the day thewizard lets the Rainbow Spirits looseinside his favourite book. Working

Eddy and the Rainbow Spirits havespent most of their lives asneighbours on a potion shelf in awizard's library.

Hydroventure: Spin Cycle is anaction puzzle game in which youhelp Eddy, a brave Water Spirit, onhis quest to save his Rainbow Spiritsisters from imprisonment within amagical book.

Butanother substance on the shelf, thedark and toxic Goop, becomesjealous and tries to claim theRainbow Spirits' power for itself.With the book in the clutches of eviland the Rainbow Spirits trappedbetween its pages, Eddy has nochoice but to venture inside. TheGoop will do whatever it takes to getrid of Eddy, including puttingpuzzles in his path, facing off againsthim in battle, and even turning theworld upside down. Eddy must callon all of his water powers, fromfreezing into a block of ice tovaporizing into a cloud of steam, buthe's going to need your help…

3 Controls

• To move Eddy around, just tilt theNintendo 3DS system from side toside. Gravity will do the rest!

• If you press or touch the cameraicon while playing a puzzle, youwill be able to move the camera.Slide the Circle Pad or use the+Control Pad to look around.

5 Saving and Deleting Data

Note: Deleted data cannot berestored, so please be careful.

To delete saved gamtouch thrubbish biicon on thprofilselectioscreen, select the profile you wantto delete, and then touch DELETE.Confirm your selection by touchingYES, or go back by touching NO.

Game progress is savedautomatically when you solve apuzzle and go back to the chapterselection screen. When thishappens, "SAVED" is displayed onthe lower screen.

Puzzle Piece collection is also savedautomatically when you go back tothe chapter select screen, even ifyou quit the puzzle without solvingit. Note, however, that any newabilities collected will not be saveduntil the puzzle is completed.

7 The Three States

o Use this ability to Gather Eddy in

o As water, Eddy can jump to reachhigher ground or collect hard-to-reach items.

The first state you'll come across isthe water state. This is Eddy's mostversatile state. As water, he cancarry objects around, fit through thesmallest of gaps, and wash enemiesaway.

When in his cloud state, Eddy doesnot need a state changer. He canuse his Rain ability to turn back intowater whenever he wants.

o Eddy uses Stick to stay still ontilted or moving platforms, or evencling to the ceiling. If you hold or touch and hold the Stick iconand then use Jump, Eddy canscale vertical surfaces!

o Sticking to enemies will freezethem solid. Eddy can smashthrough frozen enemies while inhis solid state.

o Be careful not to Stick anywherefor too long or Eddy will become

o Eddy can strike objects withLightning. Try using it on LightningRods, enemies, and other objects.

o Don't overcharge your Lightningstrike! Just as with Gather andStick, holding down the Lightningbutton for too long will tire Eddyout and damage him.

o Using Gust gives Eddy a speedboost while he's flying around.

o Gust can be useful when dealingwith enemies too. Use Gust toblow away Goop Mist or makeGoop Hornets dizzy!

In his cloud state, Eddy can ascendinto the skies. Press to float upand to float down. Balloons willbe drawn toward Eddy when he is inthis state, allowing him to carry themaround.

8 Health System

If Eddy's water reserve is empty, hewon't be able to recover health! Butdon't worry, each puzzle is full ofwater bubbles that you can collectto fill Eddy's water reserve.

Eddy has a waterreserve thatreplenishes his

health whenever he takes damage. A few moments after he gets hurt,water will flow out of his reserve andinto his health indicator.

If Eddy's water level getslow and his reserve isempty, you'll only have ashort time to refill it.

Collect some water bubbles beforethe timer on the top screen runs out!

If Eddy takes damage, hishealth level will go down.You can check Eddy'shealth level using the

health indicator in the top-left cornerof the Touch Screen.

9 Gravity

Some full-rotationpuzzles featurestrange GoopCrystals. Thesecrystals are subject

10 Star Rating

If you complete a puzzle, yourperformance will be rated on a scalebetween one and five stars.Collecting water bubbles, avoidingdamage, and completing the puzzleas fast as possible will all contributeto your rating.

In some puzzles, you will only beable to get five stars if you seek outall of the hidden water bubbles. Tryto get five stars on every puzzle!

11 Playrooms

Each playroom contains a fiendishobstacle course where you can testyour mastery of Eddy's abilities.There are no Rainbow Spirits torescue in the playrooms, so you canfocus on honing your skills andbeating your high scores.

Each puzzle (with theexception of boss rooms)contains a hidden PuzzlePiece. Collect all 14 ineach chapter to unlock a

special playroom.
