Institution's Innovation Council of SKCET organized 'Innovation Day' to commemorate

the birthday of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam in a grand scale. Dr. Nagaraj, HoD, School of

Management welcomed the students and faculty enthusiastically. Our revered Principal

Madam Dr. J. Janet presided over the function and addressed the students. Madam

drenched the audience with Dr. Abdul Kalam‟s quotes and experiences and motivated

everyone to dream like the torch bearer. Mr. Manosakthi Masilamani, Founder, Indian

Mind Power Training Centre, Coimbatore was the Chief Guest of the event and delivered

a special talk on 'Innovation is born out of cultural existence'.

Dream, Dream,Dream!!!

The guest harnessed the creative and innovative spirit among students. He asked

them to dream, dream and dream about their future.

Be Ready

He also stressed everyone to be ready and prepared in all days without any

exception.

He urged not to compare ourselves with others which lead to inferior complex.

Kalam's motivational quotes to transform student‟s life in a positive way.

INNOVATION DAY – TREE PLANTATION

"A tree is known by it's fruit; A man is known by his deeds “

To satisfy the vision of Dr.Kalam's birthday, Tree plantation has been organized to

commemorate this special day. School children have been invited to plant the

saplings. Principal Madam spearheaded the sapling drive along with the cheerful

children. We, the future India put our hands together to raise trees in a wide scale!

presentations. „Making the

INNOVATION DAY-PROJECT DISPLAY

"Every Project is an opportunity to learn, to figure out problems and challenges to invent and reinvent ".

A project display was organized wherein students showcased static and interesting

projects. The objective of project display was not only to inculcate technical

knowledge but also a blend of research mixedness. It made the students to

understand the cognitive, affective and psychometric aspect of innovative ideas. It

was such a wonderful and enlightening view which gave better solutions for

engineering problems.

INNOVATION DAY – CHEERS TO

CHILDRENS

When the exposure of the school children to innovative ideas is more, what

can stop them from learning? To bring the students across classes together to

address the issues existing in the society, various competitions like Pencil

Sketching, Essay Writing, Puzzles and Oratotic Competition were organized.

Students chose their participation based on their field of interest and proved

their passion and expertise. Through these events students have demonstrated

how to think differently that would be productive. As organizers, it was made sure

that these competitions were not meant to bring in differences among the

children, instead it would be a tool to empower the students to take charge of

creating solutions to various social issues and deepen their learning spectrum.





Spoken tutorial is an initiative of IIT Bombay to inculcate knowledge to among the

student and faculty community. It consists of online assessment, upon successful

completion of the assessment, certificate will be issued which will be of higher value.

This helps the leaning community to comprehend their understandings in the

subjects they have opted for. A total of 25 faculties from the Department of

Information and Technology have taken the test on “Java Business Applications

and GIT”.

The Innovative Club of SHA conducted a Quiz event named as “Techie Crack

Pot”. This is conducted in a view to enhance the scientific knowledge of students

which exclusively dealt with questions related to science and logical thinking. The

active participation of the students was visualized.

Coaching class for „Embedded systems‟ was conducted for III MCT B by

Ms. K. Ananthi, Assistant Professor

on training on „Analog and Pulse Communication laboratory‟ for ECE department

faculty. The training was given on Pulse Amplitude Modulation and its applications.

Supervisor for guiding Ph.D scholars from Centre of

Electrochemistry, Nanomaterials, Material Science,

Carbon nanostructures.

ECE – FACULTY CERTIFICATION

Mr.R Sarath Kumar, Assistant Professor, ECE has completed online certification

course on “Machine learning”, a 12 week course, offered by Coursera and

authorised Stanford University.
