Narrative: Queen Street Station (QSS) opened for service in August 2005. This project will provide for the targeted investment in the

improvements will include but are not limited to the rehabilitation of the concrete bus drive area, sidewalks and internal

rehabilitation of retaining walls; and communication enhancements. facilities and equipment that . This is a continuation

of the project completed in 2017 and addresses the remaining facility components.

Narrative: Upgrade Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) System exceeding its useful life. SCTA's AVL system uses GPS technology

to track the location of each bus operating on any given route. This information is used to monitor bus operations.

Customers are able to track real-time bus information through RRTA's Bus Finder system. The Bus Finder system went

live in the spring of 2015. As a hardware and software technology based system, the useful life for the AVL system is 4

years based on the PennDOT Useful Life Standard. This project provides for an upgrade to the AVL system based on

technology changes and SCTA operating/customer needs.

FEDERAL FUNDS:

SECTION 5307 (FTA Urbanized Area Formula Grants Program) – Provides funding to public

transit systems in Urbanized Areas (UZA) for public transportation capital,

planning, job access and reverse commute projects, as well as operating expenses

in certain circumstances.

SECTION 5339 (FTA Buses and Bus Facilities Infrastructure Investment Program) – Provides

funding to states and public transit systems to replace, rehabilitate and purchase

buses and related equipment and to construct bus related facilities including

technical changes or innovations for low- or no-emission vehicles.
