The font we used in the titles attracts our primary audience of teenagers because of the handwritten nature it has to it, along with the faded transition. This is because this font is in reference to school (handwriting) and a younger appeal, and so it appeals to these types of people more rather than an older audience

The clothes our main character, Dylan, is wearing is of a very typical teenage style (jeans and a hoodie) and so this attracts the audience (specifically males) interested because the character is similar to them. The specific colour of the hoodie was chosen as it’s bright and keeps you focusing on the character

The quick jump cuts show the audience that the plot at this moment is fast paced and that Dylan is trying to get somewhere, revealing part of the narrative. Though, not much detail is shown to keep the audience watching and wanting to find out where he’s going (as the quick running keeps them interested)

This point of view shot gives the audience a sense of stepping into the character’s mind. It creates a sense of realism for the film and so the audience feels connected to the character. With this angle the audience can also feel the fast paced energy, which attracts the target audience of teenage boys to my film because from my research; I found that the male demographic was more likely to carry on watching these genres of film.

The use of a realisation facial expression gives more about the narrative to the audience and demonstrates to them that he’s gone the wrong way whilst running to school. The location is also a wooded area and not your typical suburban location which also implies this narrative element to the audience. This keeps them interested and wanting to know more about the character’s journey. General audiences of films want a positive ending and for things to work out so they will be right alongside our main character and hopefully left feeling on a good note at the end.

The use of the location of a school also brings in our main demographic (and secondary audience of female teenagers) as school is generally associated with teenagers. The anticipation of what’s going to happen to Dylan after he walks in through the door is left to the audience because of the abrupt ending, this creates an open-ended sequence for the audience and for them to find out more, they need to carry on watching.
