Plus points about Front Cover as said by Riddim audience

• “I really like the masthead as ‘Riddim’ means rhythm in Jamaican patois (their accent) so it indicates that the magazine is about RnB or about that style of music”

• “Photograph is inviting because of their hand gestures, it is punchy and suggests attitude and girl power”

• “The colour scheme is neutral and therefore appealing to both sexes, it suggests power as purple and black are strong colours so it’s very effective and eye catching”

I have attracted my audience by using a simple colour scheme, the contrasting colours work well together as they’re strong and visually appealing. The colour purple also emphasizes that my magazine is for both sexes as its a neutral colour.

The image is very affective as its good quality and vibrant. It packs a punch as the artists are in dominant poses which also involve the reader because of the hand pointing.

The header at the top also show the readers what’s going to be inside the magazine without cluttering up the page. The artists mentioned are also relevant to the RnB genre.

Plus points about Contents as said by Riddim audience

• “Continuity is kept throughout as the contents page has the same colour scheme from the front cover”

• “The smaller images are eye catching and invite the reader to look further which is what a contents page should be about”

• “The main image of the male artist also shows that Riddim is aimed at both sexes even though there is a bias towards females”

• “I love how the references about Lloyd on page 36 refer to his new song and think that the reference to TreySongz on page 53 being ‘Mr steal your girl’ is so clever! I really like it.”

I have attracted the audience by keeping continuity throughout as shown by the house style and colour scheme.

The smaller images are effective as they have an effect on them which makes them stand out.

The main image is of a male artist which also reinstates that the magazine is for both sexes.

Also my favourite attractions are the references such as “Mr steal your girl” which is what the artist TreySongz is known as, and “Lloyd’s dedication to his ex” which is what Lloyd’s new song is called. This shows that my magazine is cheeky and up to date.

Plus points about the Double page spread as said by Riddim audience

• “The use of slang or sexual references indicates that it’s a magazine aimed at this cool young adult culture”

• “The colour is really eye popping and keep continuity- it really jumps out”

• “ The Polaroid's are a really effective way to edit the images as it’s a practice that was around years ago and is now coming back in vogue so it shows that Riddim is a up to date, cool magazine”

The continuity is still kept throughout as shown by the colours and fonts etc.

The main image is of the girl group featured on the front cover which keeps with conventions, but the image is also very eye popping as they’re are in a new outfit which is bright and colourful. Their poses and facial expressions are effective and combine a sense of female independence as well as ‘girlyness’.

The Polaroid's are also really attractive as of all the magazines I researched, none of them had this idea in them. This makes my magazine unique and cool, and one of a kind.
