Day 2, Zagreb to Plitvice Lakes, Thursday Enjoy a morning city tour of Zagreb, including the fortified Upper Town, the city’s historical centre, St. Mark’s Church with its multi-coloured roof, the Cathedral, the Croatian National Theatre and the University. After the city tour, we will continue to Plitvice Lakes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where we will be immersed in peace and serenity. Sixteen jewel-like lakes, each at a different level, are joined by a series of cascading waterfalls. Situated in a dense forest, the Plitvice Lakes are a natural phenomenon of rare and unique beauty. Day 3, to Trogir and Split, Friday The morning sun and the singing birds will wake you up to continue your adventure towards Trogir, a small historical jewel in the heart of Dalmatia. Here, history tells us about the Roman Empire at the Cathedral of St. Lawrence. We continue south to Split where the city tour takes you to the UNESCO World Heritage listed Diocletian’s Palace with its Peristyle, the Temple of Jupiter and the Cathedral. Day 4, Split to Dubrovnik, Saturday After breakfast we depart for Dubrovnik and take a sightseeing tour of this spectacular, UNESCO protected, fortified city. The city walls are wide enough to walk on! Dubrovnik became the only eastern Adriatic city-state to rival Venice in the Middle Ages. We will visit the Franciscan monastery with Europe’s third oldest pharmacy, the Rector’s Palace and the Cathedral. Day 5, Dubrovnik, Sunday The tour ends after breakfast with a transfer to Dubrovnik Airport. 5 days from Zagreb to Plitvice Lakes, Trogir, Split and Dubrovnik.
