Who I Am
My animal is aporcupine I am aHerbiuore myaverage life spand inthe wild is 5 to 7 yearsmy size: head andbody 25 to 36 in. tail 8to 10 in. I have softhair, but on their back,sides, and tail it isusually mixed withsharp quills.
The Early Years
Female porcupineshave between oneand four babies.Babies have softquills at birth, whichwill harden within afew days, most youngporcupines are readyto live an their own atabout two months ofage.
Habitat Sweet Habitat The porcupines are found
in North and SouthAmerica. They are goodclimbers and spend muchof their time in trees.Some porcupines evenhave prehensile (gripping)tails to aid in climbing.Other porcupines specieslive in Africa, Europe, andAsia.
