Rhinoceros is world's fourth largest aquatic organisms. Indian Rhinoceros is found in northern region of IndianSubcontinent but dramatic changes in climate and habitat makes this species in endangered category in 20th

Century.

Indian one horned rhinos are also in endangered category, the horn length is between 20 to 100 cm. They areusually known for their heavy weight. The average weight of Rhino would be 2500 to 3000 kg. In india, they areonly seen in the protected areas like kaziranga(Assam) , Jaldapara National Park(west Bengal) and Dudhwanational park(Uttar Pradesh).

Information about Rhinoceros: -

1. There are only 3000 rhinos left in the wild of India hence they are now in endangered category. After theestablishment of rhinoceros conservation in India population is now increasing.

2. White Rhinoceros is the second largest mammal which live in a earth. Biggest mammal is Elephant.

3. A group of Rhinos is known as "Crash".

4. There are five species of Rhinos(Black, white, javan, sumatran, one horned) and 3 of them are inendangered category.

5. 22nd September is known as World Rhino Day. One horned Rhino is the state animal of Assam .

Major Threats for Rhinos: - Rhinos are in prohibited category from 1910 in India. Kaziranga national park isone of paramount for rhinoceros conservation. They are killed by humans for their horns which is used formedical treatment. The major threats of this species are-
