FairEntry will open on May 16 (through July 1) and it is very important you have the above items completed in order to make your registration on

The office is preparing for this year’s fair! It is always a busy and stressful time as

we are trying to meet your needs as efficiently as possible. With that in mind please

4-H Club Information Beef Club Workshop will be held on Sunday, May 5 beginning at 1 PM at Jason and Jenny Laudeman’s House (1356 St. Rd. 10

in Bourbon). The workshop will cover fitting, showmanship and tattooing. Pizza will be served. Bourbon Township May 29 at 6 PM Regular & Mini Member Club Meeting at Bates Corporation June 23 from 2-4 PM at Bates Corporation there will be record signing and FairEntry help. This will be a come and

go event for members with ice cream provided. Dairy Club May 2 at 6:30 PM at the Marshall County Building, Room 203 (Second Floor) Dog Club will meet at 6 PM at the Fairgrounds on the following dates: May 6, 9, 13, 16, 20, 23, 28, 30 (we will not meet on May 27 because of Memorial Day) June 3, 6, 10, 13, 17, 20 The Dog Show will be on Saturday, June 22 at the Marshall County 4-H Fairgrounds beginning at 8 AM Electric Project Meetings: May 20 at 7 PM at REMC for a work night June 10 beginning at 5:30 will be the Electric Tour at RapidView LLC (1828 W. Olson Rd. in Rochester). After the

tour everyone is invited to the Fulton County Fairgrounds for pizza. Green Township The Jr. and Sr. Green Clodhoppers will meet on Friday, May 10 at the Argos Public Library from 5-6 PM. They will

be making animal toys and collecting donations for the animal shelter. Flower sales are finishing up. All orders and money should be turned into your

township by the designated date given by your leader. Please do not turn in

individual orders and money to the Extension Office. These should be given to

your township leader.

If you are a 10 year 4-H member, please take a

moment to complete a short questionnaire by

We will use this for fair during the Opening

Ceremonies and when we send information to

the newspaper. We want to celebrate your 4-H

accomplishments! Please complete this no

later than June 7!

YQCA is a program developed to educate 4-H members on live-stock care and quality. YQCA training is required to be completed

in order to exhibit animal projects at the Marshall County 4-H Fair. YQCA is required to exhibit the following livestock and/or projects: beef cattle, dairy cattle, horse and pony, swine, sheep, meat goats,

dairy goats, pygmy goats, poultry, rabbits, dogs, cats, and pocket pets (only Market Animals are required for State Fair exhibition).

YQCA must be taken annually, meaning if you took it last year, you will need to complete the training again for the 2019 4-H Year. The

content will be different than last year. New this year– there is a test out option for intermediate and senior levels. If interested in

more information, please check our website.

Online training can be taken at anytime. For face to face training the cost is $3, online training is $12. You must pre-register online for the face to face training through the web address below prior

to attending the class.

Upcoming YQCA Trainings:

May 10 at 6:30 PM in St. Joseph County

May 28 at 5:30 PM at Triton High School

June 10 at 6 PM at Bremen High School (enter through Door 19 from the parking lot on the East side of the building, then follow posted signs)

These are the last in person trainings being offered that we are aware of. You must pre-register for these trainings in order to

attend.

Livestock Members must complete this training by July 1, 2019.

Pen & Stall Forms

Pen and Stall forms will be

done via paper copy this year

and sent out to livestock

members in mid-May. They are

due to the Extension Office by

Friday, June 14 by 4 PM. Please

do not wait to turn these in. We

are unable to take pen and

stall reservations over the

phone. We will have extra

forms available at the

Extension Office to be filled out

by the 4-H member or family if

needed. Forms should be

brought into the Extension

Office by the 4-H member or

family member to be turned in.

the South entrance of the

labeled “Payment Box”. If you

are unable to bring your

paperwork during business

hours you can put the

They are $12 (pre-sale). These

parking passes will allow you to

come and go as many times as you

need during fair week!

They will also be available at the

Fair for $15. Checks should be

made payable to the “Marshall

County 4-H Fair Board”. If paying

in cash, please bring exact

change.

FairEntry Help Night!

Need help signing up on FairEntry but not able to come in

during regular office hours? You are in luck! We will be

having a FairEntry Help Night at the Extension Office on

Thursday, June 27 from 5-7 PM. Stop in and get signed up for

your projects, or ask any questions you may have!

Remember, FairEntry will be open from May 16-July 1 and

you must enter the projects you are taking to the 2019

Marshall County 4-H Fair in FairEntry in order to exhibit!

Grooming Assistance The Indiana 4-H Approved Animal Grooming Assistance Program al-

lows anyone from Indiana who would like to assist 4-H members with

their animals without enrolling as a 4-H Volunteer. You will need to

complete an application by July 1 annually, and new this year you will

also need to complete online Animal Ethics Program modules.
