PATENT ABSTRACTS 421
The process consists in treating the crop con- jointly with at least one baculovirus from Spodoptera littoralis or Mamestra brassicae and at least one photostable pyrethrinoid. The in- secticidal compositions comprises the combina- tion of at least one of the said baculovirus and at least one photostable pyrethrinoid: doses of baculovirus and pyrethrinoid are advan- tageously below usual doses. Such compositions and process are used to control noctuid Lepidop- tera by potentiation of the viroses induced by nuclear polyhedra.

A novel natural fertilizer and method of its use are provided. The fertilizer acts to increase the yield of food crop producing plants. The fer- tilizer comprises less than 0.05~o of an active a- gent in a stable carrier that is non-toxic to the plants and the active agent. The active agent is a fungus of the genus Aspergillus. The fertilizer can be used by coating the seeds of the food crop producing plant at or prior to the time of plan- ting by dusting the ends of a cut plant, by dusting the roots of a seedling, or by treating the soil in which the plant will be grown.

The present invention relates to the regeneration of sunflowers via embryogenesis and or- ganogenesis. The process comprises the steps of: (a) culturing tissue obtained from a sunflower plant on a first medium which comprises mineral salts, vitamins, amino acids, sucrose and a hor- mone in an amount sufficient to ensure callus formation: (b) optionally subculturing said cal- lus on a maintenance medium which comprises mineral salts, vitamins, amino acids, sucrose and a hormone in an amount sufficient for callus maintenance; (c) subculturing said callus on a second medium which comprises mineral salts, vitamins, amino acids, sucrose and a hormone in an amount sufficient to precondition the callus; (d) subculturing said callus on a third medium which comprises mineral salts, vitamins, sucrose and a hormone in an amount sufficient to ensure shoot formation, and (e) subeulturing said shoot on a fourth medium which comprises mineral salts, vitamins, sucrose and a hormone in an amount sufficient to ensure root formation, whereby plants are obtained.

A hybrid cell formed by the fusion of a mouse spleen cell with a mouse myeloma cell secretes an IgM class antibody. The antibody is useful as a preparative reagent in the isolation of three pro- teins, molecular weights 45.000, 49,000 and 53.000. from the parasite Trichinella spiralis and is also useful as a direct diagnostic reagent is a competitive serodiagnostic test.

The present invention relates to the regeneration of sunflowers via embryogenesis. The process comprises the steps of: (a) culturing tissue ob- tained from a sunflower plant on a first medium which comprises mineral salts, vitamins, amino acids, sucrose and a hormone in an amount suf- ficient to ensure embryogenic callus formation; (b) subeulturing said callus on a second medium which comprises mineral salts, vitamins, sucrose and a hormone in an amount sufficient to ensure embryo formation and germination of said em- bryo, and (c) subeulturing said embryo or said germinated embryo on a third medium which comprises mineral salts, vitamins and sucrose, whereby plants are obtained.
