INTRODUCTIONThis coring machine has been specially designed for coring concrete, rock and other construction material samples in the

    laboratory.

During operation the sample is clamped to the base through a cross beam, open in the middle and locked in position by twobolts of the two vertical threaded rods.

The machine is powered by two speed electric motor.

The drill incorporates a special water swivel to be connected to the water supply.

    SPECIFICATIONS:Motor power: 1800 W

Coring speed: 1500 and 2900 rpmCoring range: max. dia. 8 - 60 mm.

    Voltage: 230V - 50/60Hz (45-C0330)

    110V - 60Hz (45-C0330/Z)

    Dimensions: 450x450x300 mm approx.Weight: 80 kg approx.

STANDARD ACCESSORIES:45-C331 Clamping device for cores max. dia. 100 mm45-C342 to 45-C346 Drill bits spigot adaptors

USE1 Place the machine on the floor and check with a bubble level that the basement is in horizontal position.

2 Select the rock to be cut and place it between the upright threaded rods inside the tank. Position the removable cross beamon the rock sample in such a way that the threaded rods enter the two recesses of the beam. With the wing nuts of the tierods tighten firmly the cross beam.

3 Check the power supply (see the electrical data plate on the machine) and plug into a suitable socket. Attach the diamondbit. Bits less 2 inch dia. (50 mm) are screwed onto the shaft via an adapter; bits 6 inch (170 mm) and larger are screweddirectly onto the shaft; bits 2 inch to 6 inch need an expander assembled. Hand tighten firmly using the 35 mm spannerand the strap wrench.

Attention: Grease the screw thread of the core bit to avoid oxidation and so make easier removing the core bit.

4 Switch on motor briefly to check that bit is running true. If not, dismount and reassemble, then tighten with strap wrench.

5 Connect the water pipe to a supply with moderate pressure. Unclamp the support clamp. Lower the bit almost to the worksurface using operating lever.

6 Turn on the water (never attempt to cut without water running).

7 Select rotation speed with the 2 speed selector. Use generally fast speed. Start the motor and begin cutting. Usefirm steadypressure so that cutting is continuous. If chattering occurs, increase pressure on the lever, or back off and check that bitis running true.

8 When required depth is reached, withdraw the bit, with motor still running, then switch off motor. Turn water off last. Removebit using strap wrench.

9 Snap off core, if necessary, and lift out using special grips. If a core has to be removed from the bit, push it out from behind;do not attempt to dislodge it from the diamond end.

CLEAN UP AND LUBRICATIONUpon completion of each days drilling, wipe off the entire machine, removing water and cuttings that may have accumulated

on the unit. Pay particular attention in cleaning the column. Oil and grease moving parts of the machine is required. This willensure maximum life and efficient performance of the drilling machine.
