Geo-Power System
Use of Mother Nature Energy
Geo-Power System is unique air ventilation system utilizing geothermal energy. Instead of taking ambient air directly into the buildings, the system first bring the air down to relatively shallow (16 ft.) underground. While running through Geo Pipe, ambient air get heat exchanged and moderate temperature air will be supplied inside.
Great Power Savings Taking in such pre-conditioned air (Cool in summer and warm
in winter) will eliminate or reduce the usage of air conditioning system (30-60% energy saving).
Clean Air Output The air come out from Geo-Power System is very clean with
minimum dust as the system automatically remove most of them (95%).

There are two kinds of geothermal or underground heat. One has its source within the Earth and the other comes from the sun. The Geo Power System utilizes the underground heat from the sun. The Sun radiation energy is slowly absorbed into the ground, creating a temperature difference between the underground and the outside air. This temperature difference is the reason why you feel well water warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The graph below shows temperature taken at western Japan. At six feet below the surface the underground temperature is affected by the outside air temperature, whereas at 30 feet below the surface the underground temperature is hardly influenced by the outside air temperature at all and is nearly constant all year round. This temperature is about the average of annual temperature of the area.
It takes about half a year for the energy from the sun to penetrate down to the depth of 16 feet. This means that the underground temperature at 16 feet is slightly lower than the average during the summer and slightly higher than average during the winter.
The Geo Power System makes use of the temperature difference between the outside air and the underground temperature at a depth of 16 feet. This temperature difference can be reached as much as 15 degrees C at the peak.

Air Cleaning Effect
Data shows approx. 95% dust (99% pollen) are removed by dew condensation water in the bottom of pipe to keep outgoing air clean.
Main component Geo Pipe
Application
Geo-Power System is applicable to both new and existing buildings.
Generally, it is more effective in the regions where there are clear four seasons. But as long as the temperature difference between ambient air and underground is large enough, the system works well.
We have developed a computer simulation of possible energy saving for any locations using their local annual temperature data. (see the data on page 16 & 17)

The system can moderate temperature differences to a maximum of nearly 10 degrees Celsius during peak temperatures in the summer and winter. The graph below shows the maximum and minimum outside temperatures, the temperature 16 feet underground, and the temperature of the air coming out of the system Tokyo.
Note: Calculated using simulation software for the regional underground temperature at five meters (16 feet) in a typical year. Data obtained from the Japan Meteorological Agency’s Automated Meteorological Data Acquisition System (AMeDAS).

The graph below shows data for Escondido, near San Diego, California. The greater daily temperature differences here (about 20 degrees Celsius in a single day) compared to Tokyo means that the system is much more effective.
