I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO THANK KIM CRUZ, JEAN KRUPIN, JULIE ISENBERGER, DOLORES KONDRASHOW, PAT MUSTRADI AND KAREN GREENWALD; ALL FROM UNIT 80 AUXILIARY FOR THEIR PARTICIPATION AND HELP IN THE SERVICE.

NOW ON TO MARCH: MARCH IS COMMUNITY SERVICE MONTH. BOYS STATE SELECTION IS THIS MONTH, SO MAKE SURE ALL APPLICATIONS ARE IN BEFORE THE DUE DATES. WE WILL BE INITIATING NEW MEMBERS ON THE 21ST, SO IF YOU HAVE NOT BEEN INITIATIED INTO THE LEGION PLEASE LET US KNOW SO WE CAN PUT YOUR NAME ON THE LIST. Auxiliary News – March 2015Extra, Extra, Read All About It

Illinois American Legion Auxiliary Still Serving Veterans

In February we had a Tribute and Ceremony in Memory of the four Chaplains that lost their lives on February 3, 1943. This was a program the Legionnaires and Auxiliary worked on together. It turned out wonderful and very heart warming. Many ladies contributed time setting up, baking cookies, clean up, thank you all so much. It made the program a success. A big thank you to the ladies that participated in the program you all did so well.

During our February meeting we also welcomed a new member, Judy Ross. Everyone make sure you say hello when you see her.

Also in our February meeting we conducted our Draping Ceremony for the two members that passed in January. Ilene Kuhnert and Mary Pizzo. They will be missed.

March 13th , 14th Patriotic Conference

March 21stInitiation / Recognition of New MembersInitiation / Recognition will be held on March 21st. Come and meet our new members, as well as other Legionnaires. Cocktails will be served at 5:00 p.m. (cash bar), with dinner at 6:00 p.m., and the Initiation Program at 7:30 p.m. or sooner. If you are a new member, have transferred from another Post, or have never taken the American Legion oath, you should be in attendance. We have a very impressive program for our new members and their spouses. There will be a $5.00 donation per person to offset the cost of dinner.
