As per the details, Santosh Devi, wife of Parveen Kumar resident of Vijaypur who was working as Anganwari work- er, was hit by a bus resulting into injuries and was shifted to hospital where doctors declared her as brought dead. Police has taken cognisance in the matter and started investiga- tion. Meanwhile, Dhani Ram, resident of Majatlta who was crossing the railway track came under the train near Gurah Morh, Vijaypur and was crushed to death. One charred to death, 2 injured in fire STATE TIMES NEWS KATRA: An employee of an eatery was charred to death while two others got injuries after a fire broke out in a Dhaba at Bhavan in Katra. As per the details, a fire broke out in Shop No- 59 located at Bhavan at Vaishno Devi Shrine due to short-circuit resulting into death of one of the employee and injuries to two others. On seeing flames coming out of the shop, locals informed the fire department which doused the fire and shifted trio to the hospital. The injured were under treat- ment in the hospital. The deceased has been identified as Rajesh Singh, resident of Devigarh while the injured were Ravi Singh and Sikander Singh. In the preliminary investi- gation, it was found that fire broke out due to short-circuit. Police has registered a case in this regard and started inves- tigation. Closure of school: DM Udhampur seeks report from CEO STATE TIMES NEWS UDHAMPUR: District Magistrate, Udhampur Ravinder Kumar has directed the Chief Education Officer Udhampur to look into the complaint about Government Primary School Takki Education Zone Ghordi Khass west panchayat of District Udhampur being closed for the last two months. A News agency had carried a story on the closure of said school recently. The District Magistrate has said that action has warrant- ed under rules will be taken against the defaulters once the report from CEO is received. Drug peddler nabbed with Chitta STATE TIMES NEWS UDHAMPUR: Police on Wednesday arrested a drug peddler and recovered 6 gm contraband substance (Chitta) from his possession near Fire Station, Udhampur. Giving details, SSP Udhampur Rajiv Pandey said that on a basis on a reliable input, a Police party led by SHO Udhampur Sanjeev Chib under the supervision of Dy. SP, Z S Wani laid a surprise naka near fire station and caught one suspect person, who tried to escape. The said person was taken into custody and during his search, Police recovered 6 gm of contraband substance (chitta) from his possession. The accused, identified as Kuldeep Sharma Saroori, son of Om Parkash resident of Jakheni, Talab Udhampur was arrested and a case vide FIR No. 33/2019 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered against him. STATE TIMES NEWS REASI: In view of the upcoming Mahashivratri Mela-2019, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Dr Sagar Dattatray Doifode to review arrangements for the fair to be organised at Shiv Khori Shrine, Reasi. The DDC discussed in detail the arrangements being put in place for the religious event with the dis- trict officers, social workers and prominent citizens of the district. He informed that around 2 lakh devotees are expected to throng the shrine in the 3-day holy fair which will be conducted from 3rd to 5th of March, 2019. The meeting reviewed arrangements like sanita- tion, traffic plans, medical facilities, cultural pro- grammes, cloak room facili- ty, security, water supply etc. It was decided that Nodal Officers will be appointed for monitoring of the 3-day festival. Those present at the meet- ing included ADDC, Ramesh Chander; DySP, Nikhil Gogna; ACR, Vivek Puri; Tehsildar Pouni, Raj Baru and others. Later DC visited the site for the upcoming vegetable market to be raised at 7 kanal land at village Mari-B, in the outskirts of Reasi town. On the occasion, the DC interacted with the local farmers and prominent citi- zens and exhorted upon them to optimally utilize this vegetable market for further raising their financial sta- tus. "Once operational, this site will prove to be a boon for local fruit-vegetable growers", he asserted. It was informed that the local farmers produce organic vegetables which have a huge market and once the site is developed as a market place, it will pro- vide meeting place for local farmers and importers from Jammu and other districts. STATE TIMES NEWS KISHTWAR: Continuing their struggle, a large num- ber of National Health Mission (NHM) employees under the banner of All J&K NHM Employees Association Jammu division held a protest and observed complete pen down strike on 17th day at Kishtwar, demanding regularisation of their services at the earliest, failing which the NHM employees will boycott ensu- ing Pulse Polio Immunization campaign. Amidst cold wave, a number of NHM employees gath- ered outside the District Hospital Kishtwar and raised slogans against the Government for ignoring their demands. Speaking on the occasion, leader of NHM employees, said that the aim of holding the protest is to press the State Government as well as concerned authorities for fulfilling the genuine demands of NHM employ- ees which have not been conceded so far. "We will not give up till our services are regularized," they added. STATE TIMES NEWSBHADARWAH : Formerminister and seniorCongress leader,Mohammad Sharief Niazalleged that Doda district,particularly Bhadarwahconstituency has beenignored by the Governor inrespect of sanctioning 40new colleges in the State.

Niaz said that there anumber of areas in Dodadistrict and particularly inBhadarwah constituencywhere a college is the need ofhour. "Students in thoseareas are suffering a lot andare unable to get higherstudy due to absence of col-leges," he said.

Niaz further said that inBhadarwah Constituency,there are some far flungareas where due to financialproblems, people are unableto send their wards to otherareas for further studies.

Niaz alleged that ignoringDistrict Doda particularlyBhadarwah constituency,while sanctioning 40 newcolleges in the State, isinjustice with the studentswho are unable to continuetheir study outside theirlocality.

Niaz asked the Governorto review the order and con-sider other genuine areas aswell, where college a collegeis the need of hour.
