According to a report, Bari-Brahmana Police during patrolling at Railway Station Road apprehended one person namely Ragbir Singh son of Nand Singh resident of Taloor Sumb Samba and recovered 36 pouches of illicit liquor of J and K Excise from his possession. A case vide FIR No 151/2017 under section 48 A Excise Act was registered against him at Bari-Brahmana. In another incident, same patrolling party also apprehend- ed one person namely Bodh Raj son of Sunder Dass resident of Chak Manga Samba at Railway Station Road and recov- ered 50 pouches of illicit liquor of J and K Excise from his possession and registered a case vide FIR No 152/2017 under section 48 A Excise Act. Matador burnt mysteriously; police starts investigation STATE TIMES NEWS BHADARWAH: A matador got burnt in mysterious circum- stances near Daraina area under the jurisdiction of Police Station Bhadarwah in district Doda late last night. The incident took place at Draina Morh near Bhalla, 16 Km from Bhadarwah, on Doda-Bhadarwah Road. According to the police, the driver of the matador (JK 06- 8649) had parked it on the road side last night and went to his house. When he got news of the incident, he immediately reached the spot, but by then the vehicle was completely dam- aged. Police has started investigation, after taking cogni- sance of the matter. "As soon as we got the information, we reached the spot. As of now, we are investigating the matter," said Incharge Police Post Bhalla, SI Sunil Parihar. However, reason of the fire is yet to be ascertained, when last report came in. Woman killed, 3 injured in accident STATE TIMES NEWS POONCH: A woman lost her life while three others got injured when a car meet with an accident at Poonch outskirts. According to report, a car (JK O2 BN 6074) which was on way from Jammu towards Poonch meet with an accident at Bhainchh near Mandir resulting in four persons got injured and shifted to District Hospital Poonch. Out of four a lady namely Smith Kour wife of Bhopinder Singh resident of Jammu succumbed to her injuries. STATE TIMES NEWS RAJOURI: Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh on Sunday dedicated a Community Transformer Bank to people of this border district. The Community Transformer Bank (CTB), first of its kind in the State, is created by District Administration, with a target of procuring more than 200 transformers in convergence of different schemes to strengthen the rural electrifi- cation. The CTB will be aug- mented every three months. Presently the bank has 100 transformers including 65 transformers of 25 KVA capacity and 35 of 63KVA capacity. Present on the occasion were District Development Commissioner Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, SE. PDD Manhar Gupta, ADDC A.S. Chib, SSP Yougal Manhas, XEn. PDD Umesh Parihar besides other district officers and field staff of PDD. The Dy. CM complimented the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary and entire team of administration and Power Development Department for launching a massive drive against illegal power connec- tions and power thefts under which a record amount of Rs 25.45 lakh fine has been imposed in 12 days and 564 connections involving a load of 415KW regularised by con- ducting 1807 inspections. He lauded the daily moni- toring and reporting mecha- nism put in place by district administration to conduct this drive and for monitoring replacement of damaged transformers. He also appre- ciated the administration for initiating process of replacing damaged transformers of RGGVY. He also reviewed the progress under Deen Dayal Upadhya Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana and was informed that three villages in Narla-Bambal have been taken up during current year and work is under progress The Dy. STATE TIMES NEWS RAJOURI: The district administration Rajouri on Sunday rebutted the news of 35 deaths due to drug abuse in Rajouri. The news was in circulation on social networking sites/WhatsApp News Groups some time back under heading 'Death Mark Due to Drugs Reached 35 in Rajouri'. In the said piece of news item it was claimed that the district administration has failed miserably to contain the menace of drug abuse which had caused the loss of 35 cru- cial lives in the district. A highly placed spokesperson of the dis- trict administration said, "A detailed inquiry was held in the matter to ascertain the genuineness of the news item and the reports furnished by the Chief Medical Officer and Medical Superintendent of District Hospital revealed that no such deaths due to drug abuse occurred in Rajouri", adding the con- cerned journalist was con- tacted time and again through District Information Officer to provide details of such deaths including the bio- data of the deceased per- sons but he did not turn up with the sought details/information. The official further said the news item reflects a vocif- erous attempt aimed at maligning the civil and police administration of the district. Taking a serious note of such fabricated and bogus news items, the district administration called upon the media persons to com- municate and share gen- uine, objective and most importantly evidence based news items. BJP organises camps to listen PM's Mann Ki Baat STATE TIMES NEWS RAJOURI: Minister for Health and Medical Education Bali Bhagat on Sunday reviewed the patient care facilities during a sur- prise visit to the District Hospital Rajouri. He took a detailed review of stock and supply position of medicines and also enquired about the staff position against the sanc- tioned strength. The minister inspected hospital wards including emergency, orthopedics, OPD, diagnostic lab, surgi- cal units and Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). He also interacted with the patients and inquired about the quality of health care facilities being provided in the hospital. Patients while expressing their gratitude for the gov- ernment said the prescribed medicines and diagnostic tests are being provided and facilitated by the hospital management. The Health Minister also directed the Chief Medical Officer Dr. Suresh Sharma to expedite the formulation and submission of Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Rs 1 crore project proposed for renovation and beautifica- tion of the district hospital. Earlier the Medical Superintendent Dr. Mehmood Hussain Bajar briefed the minister about the functioning of the hospi- tal. He informed that up to the month of June, 2017, 240 major operations, 460 deliveries including 104 cesarean, 10,724 lab tests, 2,210 X- Rays, 1,599 USGs and 443 ECGs were con- ducted in the hospital while 507 children were provided immunisation for various deceases. It was further informed that 25,077 medical check- ups were conducted in OPD in the month of June this year. The minister was fur- ther informed that an amount of Rs. 7.33 lakh was generated for Hospital Development Fund during that month (June). The minister while lauding the hospital administration for performing exceptionally well, directed the medical superintendent to install CCTV cameras in and around the hospital com- pound for proper security and monitoring. STATE TIMES NEWS RAJOURI: The District Level Coordination-cum-Screening Committee (DLCSC) which met under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary decided 56 cases related to ter- rorist violence, cross-border fir- ing and others under SRO-43 of 1994. Pertinently, 47 cases pending since 15-20 years for want of minor formalities were also decided and DLCSC fixed date to hold camp for disposal of all pending cases. The committee considered and decided the cases of NoKs of martyred SPOs namely Mohd Sabar (2002), Nissar Hussain (2009), Abdul Qayoom (1998), Maqsood Ahmed (2002), Altaf Hussain (2004), Kamal Singh (2002), Khan Mohd (2009) and Wali Mohd (2006). DLCSC also sanctioned relief of Rs 5 lakh each in favour of NoKs of Akhter Bi (2017), Tufail Hussain (2017) and Asiya Kouser (2017) killed during Cross-LoC shelling in Nowshera. It also considered and decided cased of persons injured including Som Raj (2016), Diljeet Kumar (2016), Zatoon Begum (2017) and Mohd Hanif(11.05.2017). Further, cases of Sultana Begum (2016), Maqboola Begum (2016), Manzoor Begum (2015) and Mohd Akhter (2005) were also con- sidered and decided under SRO-43 of 1994 for militancy related incidents. Cash com- pensation in lieu of employ- ment was approved in favour of Sheraz Ahmed son of Mohd Hussain. It also decided pend- ing cases of Mohd Shafiq, Munir Hussain, Zakra Begum and Noor Bi for cash compen- sation to NoKs. A large num- ber of deferred cases were taken up by DLCSC for con- sideration under SRO-43 for NOKs of Zarifa Begum (2001), Parveen Akhter 2006), Jasmeet Kour (2002), Vidya Devi (2000), Qasham Bi (2000), Basharat Hussain (2002), Mohd Liaqat (2007), Shakeel Ahmed (2003), Nazir Bi (2004), Amina Bi (2004), Shakuntla Devi (2002), Said Begum (2002), Jan Bi (2002), Ghulam Fatima (2003), Mohd Tufail (2004), Karpal Singh (2002), Ghulam Hussain (2001), Mohd Zarait (2001), Nazir Hussain (2007), Javed Iqbal (2002), Nazia Kouser (2003), Vijay Kumar (2002), Om Parkash (2003), Sham Lal (2003), Munshi Ram (2001), Mohd Adrees (1998) and Mohd Aslam (2011). The families of these victims of militancy related incidents could not receive compensa- tion for want of minor formal- ities and accordingly DLCSC decided to constitute a team of revenue and police for approaching these families and organising a camp on August 19, 2017 for disposal of all deferred cases and pro- viding compensation. Another impor- tant reason to stock grass carp fish in lake for aquatic weed control. This fish species is mainly found on turbid rivers and associated with flood plain lakes. Speaking on the occasion AD Fishery Ramban Fayaz Ahmed Fayaz said that control- ling aquatic vegetation with grass carp is one of the options available to pond owners with aquatic plant problems. In many situations, the use of grass carp is an economical, long lasting, and effective option. However, grass carp are not appropriate for every pond with abundant aquatic plants.

tion of the district hospital.Earlier the Medical

Superintendent Dr.Mehmood Hussain Bajarbriefed the minister aboutthe functioning of the hospi-tal. He informed that up tothe month of June, 2017,240 major operations, 460deliveries including 104cesarean, 10,724 lab tests,2,210 X- Rays, 1,599 USGsand 443 ECGs were con-ducted in the hospital while507 children were providedimmunisation for variousdeceases.

It was further informedthat 25,077 medical check-ups were conducted in OPDin the month of June thisyear. The minister was fur-ther informed that anamount of Rs. 7.33 lakh wasgenerated for HospitalDevelopment Fund duringthat month (June).

The minister while laudingthe hospital administrationfor performing exceptionallywell, directed the medicalsuperintendent to installCCTV cameras in andaround the hospital com-pound for proper securityand monitoring.

STATE TIMES NEWS SUCHETGARH: Minister for PHE,Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham LalChoudhary on Sunday listened to the peo-ple's issues at a grievance redressal campheld at Suchetgarh. The minister tookstock of public issues and reviewed the sta-tus of decisions taken in previous publicmeetings. Villagers hailing from Sai Kalan,Haripur, Badyal Brahmana, Mokha,Kheper, Kanachak, Katyal, Bidhipur,Baspur, Kotli, Abtal, Uttabali, FatehpurSalai, Dablat and Bega Bera apprised theminister about their concerns regardingpower supply, water supply, road connectiv-ity and sanitation.

Later, the minister inspected the desilt-ing works on Distributary (D-17) MainRanbir Canal from off point RD 2100 totail end RD 11000. He directed the offi-cers to expedite the pace of desilting workso that sufficient water can be provided tothe farmers for irrigation purposes. He

further directed that desilting should bedone deep upto the canal bed and properdumping of garbage retrieved from itbefore releasing the water in the canal.

The minister also enquired about the sta-tus of notices being served to the encroach-ers and those who throw garbage in thecanals.
